Intro
I'm The Last One
My name is Justin, and I'm the last one. My story and past are all combined with one person, Cipher. There used to be many of us, but I'm the last, the only one to survive. Let me tell you a tale, of the Dreamscapers. The ones who could control dreams and nightmares. Until HE came and took away our powers. And how we, the Guardians of Sleep, became the rats in his cage.
It was my home, once, a place where we lived. My friends became my family, and we were put there for one purpose. To protect all who dreamed. Some may call use 'Angels', we are far from that. Other called us 'Brain Dismissed Thoughts.', in our world science is something to laugh at. What we are...is even unknown to us.
Most of our old life had slowly faded away the longer we lived in this realm. Not like we could escape. The hard part was, this paradises, could also be a prison. That much we all knew, so we had to learn to accept it. Some think we shouldn't have, even we are human.
But let me warn you, dear readers, that what you are reading is not all happy and fun time. This is a story about Death, Betrayal, and Insanity. As I've said before, even we are just Human. Even we fell too easily into the waiting hands of a monster who wanted our knowledge and power.
Whether it was won, or lost by him in the end, I'll leave that up to you. I've learned from the phrase my mentor told me, 'Things are never what they seem, Justin.' maybe you will too. But, I questioned his wisdom after the wave happened, when he put us to the test. And forced us to be his pawns, leads us to kill one another, take our own life, and even drive us to the point of insanity. How I survived was unknown, and what he told me still stuck with me even after the 'Change'.
But in the end, one question remains for me.
Why did he want one to live?
And...
How? How did he know it was going to be me out of all others to be the One Who Lives?
