From the fires of battle, straight onto the anvil of war
"What... what is that light?" I say this as I bring my hand up and a mesh of black and plate metal of dark rust red in the form of a hand appears. Apparently this is my hand. I stare at it as it blocks out the star which was blinding me. I am greatly startled when beeps and lights flash before my eyes as data runs across my vision and some kind of systems come online. I put my hand down in order to rub my eyes when I hear a clunk and see my hand on the helmet that I have been apparently wearing. Moving my hand away the vision through the helmet darkens in response to the star high above. I sit up and see I am covered in the same thick dark rust red armour that my hand was, and I'm in a dessert.
"How did I get here?" I ask myself as I listen to the metallic sound of my voice. I stand up clumsily and look around. There was nothing not even a dune just a flat wasteland that stretched into eternity. Turning and looking up I found another star hanging opposite of the first. I turn one last time and begin following the first star I encountered. From what seemed like a lifetime of walking I spot something in the distance, a blip, a dot in the vast emptiness. I am shocked and prepare to run for it when a phrase comes into my mind, 'Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment'. I straighten my posture and stand. I am confused and decided that sense this was the first sign of change on this god forsaken place I'll go to it anyway, and so started my sprint across the desert. After just a short time the shape of a human becomes present. About a minute later the figure becomes more defined and I skid my boots to a stop and look over the presence of a woman in the distance. She was approaching me just as I was her, however something seemed off. I walked towards her now trusting in the armour that I was wearing for protection, yet I felt something nag at me that I was carrying weapons but I could find none on my belt, nor a holster so gave up and kept going. Why was I so suspicious? Wouldn't another face in this desert be a blessing? For some reason it didn't feel that way.
We meet halfway in a deep staring contest. She was a light build with purple blue skin and shoulder length tendrils for hair. The 'woman' had no nose and was wearing tights, boots, and a corset.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" I ask her while folding my arms across my chest plate.
"Who are you is a much better question." She said very much like she knew exactly what was going on. I shifted slightly and she seemed to notice, sense her face is becoming more focused and serious. "you don't know who you are do you?". The odd woman put her hands on her hips.
"What do you know of me?" The metallic drone of my question rang through my armour and through her head it seems.
"No more than you do space marine, though I suppose... hmmmm" She stops as in thought and those two words rattle through my head. I look down and to the side mumbling the words "space marine". It expels some sort of significance and pride when it rolls from my mouth, obviously a connection to my past. She stares at me, an unmoving statue with a confused giant in a deathly still desert.
"So then I assume from your silence that you don't remember too much." She said after what seemed like an endless silence. My head shot up and looked back in her face.
"Well then who are you? or what are you?" I respond while I kneel down so my helmeted face is level with hers. While I am kneeling I reach behind my back to reach for something that instinct told me was there. Unfortunately the strange woman noticed my arm and glared with great hostility. I sighed and put my hand on my heavy belt instead, still keeping close to whatever surprise that was hidden on my back belt.
"You are not the one in power here, you can not make demands on which you have no strength." The odd woman begins walking around me as she speaks. "You who doesn't even know who he is, or even, heh, what he is can't possibly make demands now can you?"
I growl and stand up once more, irritated at the arrogance and downright rudeness of this strange woman. "Stop speaking in riddles! I am in no mood for playing games for answers." I lean towards the strange woman and poke her chest. "I at least know you are not human, and that with my build and armour you couldn't hope to overpower me."
The strange woman smirks and stopped, standing in front of me now. "Good you can learn. Now tell me this, you don't know where you are, who you are, or how you got here. So what are you going to do?"
I grumble having the feeling that this whole thing is some sort of test. I straighten my posture and give the area a quick look over before looking back to her. "Sense you are the only other person here unless I am mad, I would be inclined to ask you about this place."
She nods, still smirking. "A reasonable thing to do,
