Don't know where this came from but it begged to be written. NOt my best but I hope you find it amusing just a little.

David Hodges, newly hired trace analyst for the Las Vegas Crime Lab, sat in the break room with his new co worker, Mandy. Hodges was a bit socially awkward and so was struggling to open a conversation with her. Finally, he gulped a mouthful of air and plunged in. "So, tell me about the CSIs," he suggested as they watched Nick Stokes and Warwick Brown meander through the hall outside the break room.

Mandy looked up and shrugged. "What do you want to know?" she asked.

"I dunno," he returned. "I just…since I'm new and all, I really don't know what to expect," Hodges stated.

Looking out into the hall musingly, Mandy collected her thoughts. Finally she looked back at Hodges. "You know Captain Brass?"

Confused by the question, Hodges nodded anyway. "I met him briefly when he came in with Nick yesterday. He's kind of scary. Why?"

Mandy grinned. "He used to be the boss here. He's still the Skipper."

"I don't understand…"

"You will," Mandy assured him. "But it's like this… Brass is the Skipper. Catherine is Ginger. Sara is Mary Ann."

Hodges frowned. "Huh?"

Mandy rolled her eyes. "Didn't you ever watch Gilligan's Island?"

"Well… yeah, but…"

"So Nick and Warwick are the Howells and Grissom is the Professor," Mandy continued.

"So who's Gilligan?" Hodges wanted to know.

Her eyes lifting to the site of someone rushing into the room and heading straight to the coffee pot, Mandy smirked. "He is," she indicated.

Hodges looked across the room to the back of the DNA lab tech, Greg Sanders. "Oh…now I see," he said eagerly. The turning back to Mandy he added a thought. "So if this is Gilligan's Island, who are we?"

Mandy shrugged. "The natives, I suppose."

Just then Grissom poked his head in the door. "Hey Hodges, did you get that sample analyzed from last night?"

Standing to head to his lab, Hodges turned to Mandy. "Yeah, I really see it now," he winked before following Grissom down the hall.
