Cancelled

As the twin suns set, the planet Gunsmoke blushed a rosy pink, with strands of orange gently woven in and about. The sky was stained with the warm hues of red and orange and pink, but little wisps of purple found their way in as well. All in all, it was quite the beautiful site.

Millions Knives found himself missing the entire thing. Really, he had too much on his mind as it was, trivial things such as sunsets could not be bothered with. The lanky man was sitting in the grass, still warm from the sun, his back against rough tree bark. Running a hand through his blond hair, he closed his blue eyes and sighed. Something would have to be done about that foolish brother of his.

After crashing on the planet, he had attempted to save his brother from himself. How he had tried! But the damned woman had really gotten to his brother, more than Knives originally thought. There was so much work to undo, so many threads to unweave! He had thought, for the sake of his brother, he could accomplish it, but his fellow plant was ridiculously insistent on maintaining his idealistic, disgusting human thoughts.

It had always been imperative to Knives that he and his brother take their rightful claim of power. It wouldn't due to admit it, but Knives cared for his brother, and wanted to rely on his family more that he would ever say. Yet, thanks to the damned woman it now seemed that none of that would happen. His brother was much too susceptible to the pain of others now, regardless of his own heritage. His brother seemed adamant that everyone would be happy with each other, if they would only try. The spider would find it didn't really have to eat the butterfly.

Knives knew deep within what his brother often refused to admit. Sometimes people just can't get along. The thought, that truth, always brought a logical thought next – only the strong survive. The spider eats the butterflies to continue its own life. Knives knew this, and accepted this. He also knew that he was strong. He knew his brother was too, that much was obvious as he was still alive. But his brother gave up his spider rights to become the weak butterfly. He would not be alive for much longer.

A final battle was looming, large and uncompromising. Without wanting to know it, Knives knew he could never change his brother. No matter what he tried, the fool consistently believed the dead words of the damned woman. It was impossible to hope that he could open his eyes to the true way of things, as Knives had long ago. No, at this point there was only one thing left.

Knives opened his blue eyes and a funny little smile appeared on his face. He stood up, slowly, breaking his bond with his true comfort, the soil on which he walked. Stretching, he casually thought about where he would kill his brother. That was the answer, after all. Only the strong survive.

The twin suns had finally set, taking with them all the majestic, glowing colors. Darkness covered the scene as a moon with a strange hole glowered down on the planet Gunsmoke. The stars did their best to pin back the blacked sky, but the void strained to absorb the little planet. All in all, it was quite the eerie sight.

Author's Notes: Maybe a little short, but I think that's the way Knives thinks. He's short and to the point, and so, this must be as well!
