Knock! Knock! Knock!
Danica open up, it's me Andreious.
What do you want?
We have managed to capture the Serpiente Prince, Zane Cobriana.
How?
I haven't gotten the whole story yet, but aren't you excited.
Why should I be? All you have managed to do is capture a young boy. What we need to focus on is Anjay Cobriana, the King of the Serpiente.
I figure we can use him as a bargaining chip. Surely the royal family will want their prince back?
Andreious the royal family has two more heirs besides Zane; while he would be missed
they are not close to losing the war with so many heirs.
If the royal family doesn't demand him back his people will. Zane has great
relationships with the entire Serpiente, they will demand him back no matter the cost.
You forget one thing, Andreious.

Anjay Cobriana is not like most Serpiente kings. He doesn't rule with the rules his ancestors did. Anjay doesn't want people to go against him, so he rules with an iron fist. Those who go against him and his ideas are punished severely, maybe even killed. The whole population of the Serpiente could want their prince back, but none would say so if Anjay decided his little brother wasn't worth saving.
Danica, they're family surely that has to mean something to Anjay. Anjay doesn't feel the loss of his people. He thinks of them as disposable pieces; if you lose one get another. He doesn't care who dies as long as they keep fighting in this war.
Then capturing Zane was a waste of time. I'll tell the guards to dispose of him.
No! You can't even if Anjay doesn't want Zane back killing him would give Anjay a good reason to attack.
All right then we'll just let Zane go.
Andreious!
Oh, what now!
You know why we can't send him back to the Serpiente Palace.
Danica, those were just rumors.
You don't know that. Have you seen her on the battle field since we let her go?
No.
Why do think that is? You think she just decided to quit after begging us to let her live?
No.
Then what do you think happened?
Danica what happens to Zane is not for us to deal with, OK. Let the Serpiente deal with their own problems.
What if it was me Andreious? Would you want them to send me to my death?

Alright, if you say so. We better hurry the guards I left with aren't exactly the nicest.
I trust they know better than to hurt a prisoner against orders.
They were taught to not harm any prisoner, but they might see this as an exception.
If he has any injuries because of them they will be punished, understood?
