AN: Just a short little
diddy about Max's thoughts after their kiss on Meow. Don't expect too much, but I thought it was too wonderful. Minimal change this time only! (5/20)
The one
word I can think of is FINALLY. Oh,
those lips which I'd dreamed about and even touched once. But this time it meant everything. And I didn't run away.
ECSTASY. And the good kind. Not what comes with really good sex, but the satisfaction of
knowing that the person whose lips are on mine feels that same tremor in their
heart that is making my breath quiver.
To feel that stubble burn me, to have his hand come up and hold me
possessively. To look in his eyes and
see not the usual regret but something else.
That was me. This is
me. He was looking at me. And he wasn't turning away. Oh, what bliss. I could die happy right now.
Blissfully happy.
And even
better is the promise of more. We have all
the time in the world, he said.
Something wonderful has clicked into place now and I feel as though the
world is suddenly in 3D and technicolor again.
I am alive. And I am human. And Logan and I… well, I don't know what we
are. But we're something. Just try and kick this smile off my face.
