This was written really quickly, but I just wanted to get in something for the free day of the At the End of the Rainbow event! Takes place after the kiss.

It still wasn't raining, but Ari was okay with that. He and Dante were lying down on their backs, holding hands and watching the night sky.

"When did you realize it?" Ari said, speaking up and breaking their comfortable silence.

"Always, Ari. I knew I was in love with you from the day that I met you, and I taught you how to swim," Dante said, smiling easily at Ari. "What about you? I was just beginning to think that I didn't even have a chance."

Ari hesitated a second before answering. "I didn't even realize it myself, really. Long story, but I was having a beer with my parents, and they basically said, 'Ari, you're really gay for Dante.'" At this, Dante burst out laughing, and the two of them fell back into their easy rhythm of combined bouts of laughter.

"But I was denying it for a long time, and I didn't even realize it. Ileana just felt so fake. Nobody was as real as you, Dante."

"I'm still not a real Mexican," Dante said, interrupting him.

"That's bull, and you know it, Dante. Anyway, I guess I liked you since the beginning. Or at least since I jumped in front of the car for you. God, I was so clueless. Dante, how could I have been so clueless?"

Dante squeezed his hand. "Because you're Ari. And truthfully, I didn't mind waiting too much, if it meant that I could have kissed you again earlier tonight. I told you before, but I'll say it again. Swimming and you, Ari, are the things I love the most."

"I love you too, Dante," Ari said, turning his head towards Dante and kissing him again. Their names and identities fell away from them in that moment, and they were just two boys kissing in the back of a truck in the desert.
