Elphaba was sitting under the light shade of a tree when suddenly and light breeze blew through and carried her papers off the ground. "Dammit!" She scrambled up and caught them midair. She heard the group of girls behind her laughing. She turned to glare at them. "What are you looking at?" She said harshly. The group quickly fell silent. Then she felt the hand lightly tap her shoulder. Galinda's bright blue eyes were staring into hers, she was smiling as usual.
"Don't get so angry, Elphie."
Elphaba looked down, she felt guilty, Galinda was right, she always let her temper get the best of her.
"Sorry, Glin." She muttered, only loud enough for Galinda to hear.
Galinda laughed and pulled on Elphaba's sleeve. "You need some new clothes, young lady, to the mall!" Galinda skipped away and Elphaba shook her head and followed, but she was smiling. When she had caught up to her she said something only she would say, "It's my free period and you want to take me away from my studies to shop?" Galinda turned around and stared at her like she was crazy… and well, green. "Of course I do, Miss Elphaba!"
"You're not changing your mind, are you?"
"Nope!"
"OOOOOOOOH ELPHIE, what about this one?" Galinda was holding up and pink fluffy strapless dress. "Uh, not sure Glin, I think that would suit you more." Galinda frowned at first and looked it over again.
"Are you sure? Oh, alrighty than I'll buy it!" She added the pink dress to her bags and put them on the cashier to be paid for and sent to their dorm later. Elphaba was happy with the dress she got, dark navy blue, and very similar to the rest she has. She carried it back to Shiz herself as they walked back.
"I'm so glad I decided that we should be friends!" Declared Galinda on the way back. Elphaba laughed, Galinda really did think she had a nice laugh. "Because you definitely chose it." Glinda was her only friend, Elphaba knew that. But could she live with it? Yes, maybe at first they didn't get along, but Elphaba now knows that Galinda will probably be one of the only people to accept her for who she is, green skin and all. Galinda is a true friend.
