Korra stood in the station, leaning against a bench and staring down at her boots. Her gaze was torn from her shoes when a tired voice greeted her. "Hey, Korra," the voice said simply. She looked over her shoulder to see someone who looked like a washed-out version of Tahno. She turned her full body in order to get a better view of him.

"Tahno?" she asked, somewhat surprised to see him. She glanced at him quickly, noting that his hair lacked the usual fullness and shine. The dark rings under his eyes didn't go unnoticed either. He looked at her for a moment before turning away. Her heart ached at the expression on his face. He looked so... lost. Instinctively, she closed the distance between them and took a seat on the bench beside him. "Listen," she began, not entirely sure where she was going with this. "I know we're not exactly best friends, but I'm sorry Amon took your bending," she said, wishing she could do something - anything - to help him.

He turned his face slightly towards hers. "I've been to the best healers in the city," he commented, his voice even more downcast than it was earlier. This time, he turned to look fully at her as he spoke. "Whatever Amon did to me, it's permanent," he said glumly. As soon as he finished talking, he turned his head to face forward again, his chin tilted slightly down. She echoed his movement. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him turn to face her again. "You gotta get him for me," he told her, his voice deliberate and his face serious.

"Tahno," she turned to fully face him, placing her hand on his. His eyes dropped to their hands for a second before quickly returning to hers. There was a curiosity in them as he listened to her speak. "I will get Amon for what he's done to you," her hand left his and moved to gently rest on his face. He seemed to nuzzle his cheek into her hand as if he honestly enjoyed the feel of her hand on his cheek. It was probably the first kind of real comfort he'd received - other than the healers - since Amon took his bending. Sure, Tahno was an arrogant jerk sometimes, but he didn't deserve this. "I promise, he'll regret ever messing with the Uh-vatar's friend," she used his pronunciation of her title to attempt to make herself seem less abrasive, but her voice was solemn. He nodded and covered her hand with his own. The action was unexpected, but she simply offered him a small smile.

For a second before Lin and Tenzin arrived, Korra could have sworn that she saw a bit of light return to Tahno's eyes and the ghost of a smile playing on his lips. When Lin and Tenzin got closer, however, Korra and Tahno both simultaneously took their hands back and placed them in their laps, but she still maintained eye contact with him. "We're ready for you now," Tenzin said. As Tahno got up, Korra found herself longing to stay with him longer. All she wanted to do was assure him that Amon would pay for what he's done. She hoped she'd made that clear.

Right before he left, Tahno turned to Korra and waved. "See ya around... Uh-vatar," he said to her. This time she was sure she saw him smile and there was undeniably some light in his eyes.

"Yeah. See ya around... pretty boy," she returned the wave and he uttered a soft chuckle before giving her one last smile and leaving.

Yes, Amon was definitely going to pay.
