A/N: Am I completely insane? Yes, I am. Two fics in one day! I'm proud.
Anyways, this is a ShockingShipping one-shot. I adore this ship. I need more!
I do not own Pokémon.
Enjoy!
"have you ever seen a heart break?"
Volkner isn't a people person. He much prefers observing, watching. He stays on life's fringes. He's seen crises and catastrophes, triumphs celebrated and people mourned.
But this is something new.
There is a girl a few metres away. She's sitting on a bench, beside a man. The man is nothing special to look at. The girl, however, is a different matter altogether.
This girl has golden hair and sky blue eyes, and her face is beautiful, in a strange way. She's slim and tall, wearing clothes that drape on her thin frame perfectly. A comically huge pair of head phones rest atop her head.
Volkner never really notices beauty. Yes, he's gone out with a lot of girls. None have lasted for longer than a month. But, this girl strikes him as beautiful in a way that none of the rest did. He hears the man mention her name: Elesa.
Elesa doesn't seem to be very happy. The man is attempting to break up with her, and she's not taking it well. Volkner figures out that the man had an affair, which baffles him. Why would you have an affair when you have her?
Eventually, Elesa stands up, and storms away. The man attempts to stop her but she pulls herself out of his grasp. Black tears, dyed with mascara run down her face. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.
She walks for a while, but she eventually collapses on to a bench, and starts to wail. Volkner realises that he's witnessing something he's never seen before: a heart breaking.
Volkner has never really gone in for comfort. When his mother died, people tried to console him. He just shook it off and continued. Life goes on. Why should he feel so sad for this girl, this sobbing girl who's slowly shattering?
There's no reason why.
He shouldn't.
But he does.
So he stands up, walks over, and instead of breaking a heart, tries to fix one.
