Offscreen Apology

Hello guys, I just saw the episode of Pokémon where ash was banned from a gym for insulting the perfume and I know that annoyed a lot of people, so I have made a story that tries to remedy the whole thing with making a story with Erika apologize to ash for overreacting. I am trying to make this as close to canon as I can to make it more pleasing. This is set after ash saves Erika's gloom from the burning gym.

Erika: You saved my gloom! Thank you so much ash.

Ash: Don't mention it Erika.

(Erika looks at her gloom with an ashamed look on her face)

Erika: Ash. I'm sorry for banning you from my gym before. It's just that, we at the celadon gym care a lot about the perfume that we make here so when you insulted it, I just got so angry that I lost control and took my frustrations out on you. But after you saved gloom, I saw how much of a good person you are, and I feel awful about what I did to you.

Ash: Thanks for saying that Erika. But I should really apologize too. When I found gloom, I realized how soothing its fragrance is and I'm sorry for saying perfume is a waste.

Erika: Thanks, but I was the one out of line. You were just voicing your own opinion and I overreacted. The Pokémon league rules state that a gym leader has to accept the challenge of any trainer who wish to battle me. So as a gym leader, I have a responsibility to put reason before emotion when dealing with new trainers and I failed. I could have gotten my whole gym shut down because I can't take a criticism. I'm terribly sorry for being so immature and unfair to you Ash.

Ash: Don't worry about it, Erika. Besides, we had the battle anyway so it's fine. If anything, I'm just a bit sore from the whole fire. So, what do you say we shake hands and have a fresh start as friends?

(Erika put a smile on her face and shook ash's hand)

Erika: Sure thing.

(The workers of the Celadon Gym look at each other with ashamed expressions and walked towards ash.)

Blue Haired Girl: Excuse me ash.

Ash: yes

Blue Haired Girl: We just wanted to apologize too for being unfair to you earlier. We shouldn't have been so dismissive to you and I shouldn't have assaulted you with my stamp. Looking back now, I realized that we could have gotten into a lot of trouble because of our actions and we are terribly sorry

(All the girls nodded in agreement)

Ash: Don't worry girls. I would been upset too if something I deeply care about was insulted. Besides, I'm not going to hold the whole stamp thing against you. Believe it or not, I have actually been hurt a lot worse than that.

(ash and the girls share a laugh when misty and brock walk up to him)

Brock: Ash, we would like to apologize too.

Misty: Yeah, we're your friends and we just stood there and did nothing while you were in trouble and we're very sorry for that.

Brock: Yeah, no kidding.

Pikachu: Pika-Pika (Pikachu said in agreement)

Ash: it's ok guys, I'm not mad. Everyone is fine and we are all safe. That's all that matters.

(Erika Walks over to ash while holding something in her hand)

Erika: Ash, I believe you have earned this.

(Erika holds out the rainbow badge)

Ash: But we didn't finish the match. I didn't beat you.

Erika: But you did. You have shown me how much you care about Pokémon and displayed great bravery in saving Gloom. Also, you defeated me by helping me realize how I needed to grow as a gym leader.

Ash: Thanks Erika

(Ash takes the badge and then does his victory pose)

Ash: I just earned a rainbow badge!

(cut to Ash, Misty, and Brock waving goodbye to the Celadon Gym as the leave for their next adventure)
