Sherlock sat in his usual stool at his usual place in Molly's lab using his usual microscope. He spent so much time there running tests and doing who knows what else that Molly constantly left the spot open for him. She would often walk in after her lunch break to find Sherlock sitting at his place, mixing chemicals or scrutinizing evidence for his latest case. It never bothered her. She enjoyed his company, although she could never tell if he felt the same way.
"Molly, do we have any lithium oxide left?" Sherlock inquired after a few moments of silence.
"Er, I think there might be more in that cabinet behind you," she answered absentmindedly before turning back to the chart she was filling out. Cause of death: lung puncture. Time of death: 2:43 am. It was an odd incident, she suspected the newspapers would dub it a freak accident. Closing the file, she got up and put it on the shelf on the other side of the room.
Turning around, Molly inhaled sharply. "Sherlock, you startled me!" She exclaimed, suddenly breathless.
The consulting detective hadn't gotten up to find more lithium oxide. He had, in fact, followed Molly to put away the chart.
"Apologies, Miss Hooper. It was not my intention to startle you." He took a step forward. "In fact, please tell me if my actions continue to do so." He took Molly's chin in his hand and tilted her face up. He brought his lips confidently to hers, resting his hands on the wall behind her. Molly smiled into the kiss. She placed her hands on Sherlock's neck, threading her fingers into his curly hair. She sighed contentedly. Sherlock's lips were so soft, softer than they looked.
When he pulled away, moments later, Molly's chest rose and fell quickly with her breath. The blue in his eyes exhilarated her; she felt like she was on fire with him.
"Top shelf?" Sherlock asked calmly.
"Y...Yeah," Molly answered, her voice sounding far off to Sherlock's ears.
He nodded crisply and turned on his heel to retrieve his lithium oxide. Molly straightened up and smoothed her lab coat with a smile. "Sherlock?"
"Yes?"
She smiled. "You started me. But I enjoyed it."
Sherlock nodded, hiding a smile of his own. "Good."

AN: Hi guys, I realized I haven't gotten anything up in forever. Sorry about that, and sorry this is so short. Most of the writing I've done lately is about the OCs from a different story. Anyway, I'm working a different story that I'll hopefully get up soonish. Feel free to review or message me with what you think about the story. Or anything. Thanks for reading!
