"I get it."

Homura would do anything for her. It wasn't really something that needed to be stated anymore. It was a fact as simple as the colour of the sky. She would do anything for Madoka's sake. If it was to save her, or to answer her wish- If it would make her happy, Homura would do it without fail or question, no matter how many times she would have to repeat it all to succeed.

Whenever someone found out, they'd always have the same reaction. They'd look surprised, and then slowly they'd smile, which would twist into a know-it-all smirk and go "Oooooh, I get it."

Every time, it took almost all of her rather considerable self-control not to break their nose and snap that they knew nothing. It wasn't like that. It wasn't for a reason as selfish and perverted as that.

She loved Madoka. That was true... But it was something far simpler and yet far more complicated than what those idiots thought when they smirked like that and said those words.

She loved Madoka. She'd sacrifice everything for her. Her own will, feelings, and memories, in comparison they didn't matter. In comparison to what, she didn't know, but it wasn't something as simple as that.

"I get it."

A swordsman was standing beside her, watching the bonfire dance along with their laughing crews. Violin notes rose above the crackling of the fire, lending everything the feel of a festival she hadn't experienced in over a lifetime. Mami and their Navigator were sitting together, clacking glasses together in happy cheers as they discussed some thing or another. Sayaka and their Sniper were swapping outrageous stories. Charlotte and Roberta were flirting with their Cook, Charlotte wheedling more sweets out of him no doubt, with Roberta doing it just for the sake of it. Kyouko and their Captain were dining together, although, at this point, it seemed to have degraded into more of an eating contest.

Homura and the Swordsman just stood quietly beside each other, watching the festivities go on. When Madoka had made their introductions, ("Akemi, Zoro. Zoro, Akemi!"), Zoro had watched Homura's eyes as they followed Madoka's back, as the archer happily went over to talk with their Doctor (Chopper).

The two had talked, barely. Neither Homura, nor Zoro were all that much for small-talk or conversation. They had spoken about random things, often brought up by the antics of the crewmates before them. It wasn't unsurprising that silence would fall between them, each content to watch the others play and laugh.

What had surprised Homura, however, was when Zoro had broken the silence, with a quiet smile that had caught her eye, and with the simplest words she had heard in a long time.

"I get it."

And when Homura watched the way his eyes followed his Captain as he chased after Kyouko and Charlotte as they made off with all four of the desserts- She knew that he actually did.
