Edward walked into Last Chance, a small restraint with his two best friends Emmet and Jasper. They were at a South Carolina beach for the summer. The place was empty except the 2 girls sitting behind the counter who looked about his age, 21. The one on the left was impossibly small with golden stick straight hair going down her back, the other was a taller towhead. Neither seemed to take notice of the boys entrance and didn't even look up from their magazines. It was probably because the radio was on in the kitchen with a much louder singing the chorus of a song Edward had never herd. The mysterious voice had him captivated; it was twice as good as the girl singing on the radio. He snapped out of it and walked up to the counter and cleared his throat. The taller girl looked up from her magazine and turned bright red when she realized they had been there a while. There was a hole in the wall behind her that looked into the kitchen, thus finding the source of music. All Edward could see was the back of a short thin-but-curvy-at-the-same-time girl with long mahogany locks that cascaded down to the small of her back.
"I'm Alice." the girl from behind the counter offered. "Can I take your order?" She paused and winced from embarrassment when Jasper tried to order but had trouble speaking over the singing. "Bella!" She turned around in surprise and shock. "Please." Bella turned back to her dishes silently. Edward side glanced over to Jasper and Emmet, not surprised they were checking out the two blondes. They made their order and went to sit at a table. Edward could hear the three girls talking in hushed tones. It didn't sound like English so he had trouble following. After several minutes Bella emerged from the kitchen swing door with their food. She was an angel. Her face perfectly symmetric with full raspberry lips and thick lashes that framed her huge golden eyes could put any model to shame. Not mention her pale curvy body; Edward was pretty sure even if she wasn't wearing low cut jeans and a tight black t shirt she would still stop any guy on the street. Bella gracefully made her way over to the table and set down the plates. Edward held her eyes with his for just a second and instead of her blushing and running back to the counter life girls usually did she just politely smiled and slowly walked back. This confused Edward. She whispered something to the smallest blonde in something that was definitely not English. The girl bit her lip to hold back a smile as she glanced over to their table. Jasper and Emmet snickered at their food.
"What?" Edward snapped at them.
"What was all that about?" Emmet laughed.
Edward shook his head slowly. "I don't know. Have you ever seen a girl look at me life that after I gave her 'the look'?" He referred to the many girls he had drooling after him at home. Jasper said no and Emmet just laughed some more. Half way through his meal the beautiful music floated back to his ears. He sighed, how could he be so absorbed by one girl? It wasn't like him. Either way he knew he needed to get to know this girl, because something about her told him she was different.
