Authors note: This is a poem I wrote in regards to Hiccup and Toothless's friendship. The last movie comes out on Friday so what fitting way to kick things off? I'm hoping it comes off ok, I am not really well established with poetry. I wrote this last year and am just now putting it up on here. Probably one of the more prolific and truly remarkable friendships ever to be seen in cinema and with this ending let us hope all goes well…I give you my first poem submitted on here, and let us salute Dreamworks and the team behind the films for making us believe in the flight of friendship, the strength and bonds that defied the odds.
HTTYD: Friends in flight
My name is Hiccup Haddock
And I am a Viking
I live on the edge of a knife
Armed with a Night Fury
My friend Toothless and I soar high
Ready to take on bad guys
The life I live is not easy
Flying can make one so queasy
The world falls from under you
The feel of the wind brand new
Nothing can replace this feeling
No amount of joy so reeling
However when the end comes
And I fear that day is soon
And you are left feeling so blue
Look to today and don't turn away
For this much I can guarantee
Toothless and I will be best friends
Now until our journeys end
