Hope you enjoy this story. I decided to write this story since I couldn't find one about their childhood. I don't own Pokemon or anything you might recognize in this story.

Summary

Cynthia, Diantha, and Steven have been best friends since they were little. But when a series of events separates them, what will happen to their friendship. Can they keep the promise of meeting again in the future or will their friendship go down the drain.

"Come back here Steven!" 7 year old Cynthia yelled as she chased a 8 year boy around the yard. The young blonde was currently chasing a very scared Steven around her yard and Steven knew he was done for. "Steven, I'm going to have Ralts use a shadow ball on you!" Another 7 year old girl called out as she and Cynthia chased Steven around the yard. They continued to chase him until he got cornered. They were playing with each other that day and everything was going perfectly until an incident occurred.

20 minutes earlier

"Cynthia, Diantha and Ralts are here." Cynthia's mother called out as her mother and Diantha entered their house. The girls and Steven were going to have a play date with each other that day. "Diantha let's go outside."

The girls went outside and soon after Steven came out with his Beldum.

Steven and Cynthia lived right next to each other and Diantha lived across the street. The girls lived with their parents, while Steven lived with his grandmother. Their houses were located in a quiet neighborhood with a lot of Pokemon around.

Cynthia was wearing a light blue summer dress that reached her knees with white sneaker. Her blonde hair was put in two braids and at the end of them were small black ties with yellow stripes.

Diantha was wearing an identical dress, but it was light pink and had floral patterns on it. She had light pink sandals that had flowers on them. Her hair was tied up into a braided bun. She was also wearing her swan necklace, without the mega stone on it.

Steven was wearing a t-shirt and shorts with his blue running shoes. His light blue hair was ruffled and he was also holding a bag filled Pokemon food and treats. It was a rather warm summer for Sinnoh, so their parents let their kids play outside.

Cynthia's parents were paleontologist, so she often stayed at Steven's or Diantha's house while they were gone.

Diantha's parents were really famous, as her mom was once the Kalos queen and her dad was an actor. They wanted to take a break from the fame and settled in Sinnoh to raise Diantha.

Steven's parents were at Devon Corporation in Hoenn. They wanted to keep him away from the press until he was older and could understand why they were everywhere. That's why he lived with his grandma ever since he was little.

When Steven arrived the girls were already playing hide and seek with their Pokemon. Steven thought it would be funny to surprise the girls using Beldums' take down attack, but that surprise ended in nothing but tragedy for the boy.

Diantha and Cynthia were playing hide and seek with their Pokemon when they decided to get some lemonade and cookies that they had made earlier. They were about to pour some into the cups when Beldum's takedown attack missed. It was supposed to stop right behind the girls and given them a little scare, but it hit the table instead, spilling the lemonade all over the place. The girls turned around facing a scared Steven as he and Beldum slowly backed away only to be chased by the girls and their Pokemon.

Present

Steven looked behind him and saw that he was trapped and knew that he couldn't fight his way out of the mess he made. "Okay, I'm sorry for what I did." Steven told them as he raised his hands in surrender.

The two girls looked at each other and knew that it would be impossible to stay mad at their friend forever. They decided to go inside and make some poffins for their Pokemon. They helped Cynthia's mom by washing the berries and smashing them into a paste. When they were done they gave them to their Pokemon who devoured them quickly.

They played with each the rest of the day and after lunch they wandered into the forest to find some Pokemon. They ran into the forest with Gible, Beldum, and Ralts chasing after them. They had found some Starly and bug types. They soon wandered near a river where they stopped and decided to take a short break.

"Do you want to play name that Pokemon?" Steven asked them as they reached the bank.

"Ok" The two girls replied as they sat down.

"Poliwag, Luvdisc Wooper, Shellos, Finneon, Sentret," They called out as more Pokemon appeared. They had spotted a lot more, but Steven won when he quickly spotted a wild oddish. After they finished their game Steven got his bag out and soon they all started to feed the wild Pokemon. It started to get dark so they decided to walk back to Cynthia's house.

"Do you guys want to come to my house tomorrow?" Steven asked as they entered the house.

"I'll ask my mom first." Diantha told him as they went to the bathroom to wash their hands.

"Mom can we go to Stevens house tomorrow." Diantha asked her parents when they came in to pick her up.

"Sorry sweetie, but remember we're going to Kalos tomorrow to visit your grandparents and we will be gone all week." Diantha visited her grandparents every couple of months and when she came back she always had stories to tell. Like when she went camping a couple of years ago and found a Pokemon egg in the forest. She kept it and soon that egg hatched into her ever loyal partner Ralts. Or that one time when she got lost in Lumiose City, because she was mesmerized by the clothes and food.

"You can go Cynthia, but make sure Gible doesn't destroy everything like last time." Her mother warned her, because last time Gible was left alone she bit everything that could fit in her mouth. She, Steven and his grandmother had left the house to get ice cream, with Gible and Beldum outside playing with each other. Gible somehow managed to get in the house and upstairs and began chomping on everything. When they came back they saw the entire upstairs covered in feathers. Luckily, Gible had only attacked the pillows and everything else was spared.

"Bye Steven, Bye Diantha." Cynthia called out as they left. She couldn't stop the feeling she had that something really bad was going to happen soon. She just shook the feeling off and watched as her friends went into their houses.
