A/N: just something that popped in my head one day. I know it's not as good as other poems out there, but at least I gave it a shot ;-) tell me what you think...
Life and Death
Humility, valor, dedication, devotion, loyalty, honor, love
Such traits a ninja must posses
Such aspects a ninja must demonstrate
Such descriptions of his life are not only of the Code of Bushido-
But as a solemn oath as a brother
Humor them-though they may be wrong or their actions ill advised
They must learn from their own mistakes while you are willing to be there
for them with help and guidance
Be proud of them-though they may mess up
You are proud because they try
Dedicate your time to them when they need you
Whether they know it or not
Devote your life to protecting them-
Such is the duty of the elder brother
Always remain loyal to them and be willing to take the fall for them
Honor them with trust-fight your hardest so you are able to watch over them
Love them like no others-be selfless and willing to give your life for them
These are the things I swear every waking moment
I am their guardian-their protector
If one is hurt, as am I-
For this means I failed them
I must strive for perfection so I may look after them
Though I am hardly fearless
I must never show it
For my worst fear is failing them-
My worst fear is losing them
I must never show weakness
Never fail-never give up or give in
Do the right thing
Though it may mean putting the world upon my shoulders
I humbly accept the task
For there is no greater honor than supporting…loving my family
I will do what it takes to keep them safe
Even if it leads to my demise
I am the eldest brother
And I will always be there for them
In life…and death
