This is done in short, short chapters. The reason for this is that it is about the drama.

It isn't something to make you squeal.

It isn't for the shippers.

It isn't about couples.

It isn't about action scenes.

It isn't for laughs or for smiles or even for tears.

It is for me, and if it bothers you, you can stop quite quickly.

"Wallace West, you stand accused of the rape and murder of Jayati Yuvarani Mukti Murphy, Also known as Jinx, and the subsequent slaughter of her unborn child. How do you plead?"

"Not guilty, by reason of temporary insanity." The smartly dressed lawyer Aunt Iris had found for him responded coolly.

"Bail?"

"Your honour, the people move for remand. The defendant posses significant flight risk and has global ties to vigilante meta-humans."

"My client has a spotless record and is vouched for by law enforcement throughout the state. Any flight attempts would have been made before his identity was revealed. He has no reason to run."

"He is facing a life sentence. I'd say that's a good reason to run. Remand granted."

"Wally, we'll get you out of this." Dick assured him.

"No one will put you away, they can't." Gar added.

Raven was silent. She hadn't spoken since her visions had led them to Jinx's body. She knew when she took the stand she would break the silence and seal his fate.

Selinda stood in the courtroom, tears streaming down her face, Baran and Mikron beside her. Baran was pale, his skin hanging off of him in the manner of one who had recently lost massive amounts of weight. Mikron was far worse. "No, no, no. Jinx. My Jinx. You can't. No. I was- I was gonna be uncle Mikron, we were gonna be a family again. Jinx, my Jinx. This is wrong. This can't be…" He had been like this for the whole month. Three cars were blown up in his denial.

Vic was different. Distant. Detached. "Wally, you don't have a chance. Plea this out. You're going in otherwise." He waited for a response. "Fine. Do what you want. I'd wish you luck, but not only would it be in bad taste, it would be insincere. You…" He couldn't finish the sentence. Dick, Roy, and Gar stubbornly stuck by him, defending him to the end, but even Kori had given up her hope.

Wally didn't hear them.
