Robin knows that showing emotion and letting people know you're upset is never a good thing. It ends in arguments and even more complications than there were to begin with. Bottling up is never good either, but she's always managed to keep her emotions bottled up. And the situation isn't anything to get upset other.
But she misses Barney more than she should. It's strange now having him there, making comments about suit and pointing out which girl he's going to hit on on that particular night. She misses a fifth seat being at the table. She misses seeing someone in a suit every night. It's reached the point where she knows she's being pathetic. But that doesn't change anything.
She's tried. Robin's tried really hard to get Ted and Barney to make up. Ted's having none of it and Barney-well, the only one in the group that Barney's talked to since the whole thing is Ted. But Ted doesn't want to talk to him, so the others are left in the dark.
So she tries to get news of Barney out of Ted without being too obvious, but again, no such luck. Ted won't talk about Barney, even though he's pretty much all Robin can think about.
But there's no chance of it. Barney's gone from the group. There's not even an empty chair on the end of the table to remind Robin of the fifth member of the group. But she doesn't think she'll forget about Barney any time soon. Not at all.
