No More

There was the soft sound of falling rain as it struck the fine porcelain cups and dishes. The sky was filled by many ominous thunderclouds. A clock somewhere far within the building struck three. The tablecloths were soaked through, and the tables stood in deep puddles. The metallic pattering of the rain sounded like melancholy wind-chimes.

No people were to be seen. The street was empty. There was a soft groan as a large gust of wind made a shop's sign sway on its rusty hinges. The windows were dirty and could not be seen through. One window had not been shut completely, and the rain blew in. The curtains billowed on the inside, their peaceful slumber had been disturbed.

There was a pair of red shoes on the doorstep to one apartment. Their tall thin heels had been worn down by use, and now they were filling with grey rain.

Hayll was no more. It's people were gone. It's purpose, such as it was, was gone. It had once been said that when Daemon Sadi died, Hayll would die with him. There was truth in those words. A bitter truth though it may be.

The End.
