Warning: AU! Slave Gellert/Albus
Albus looked over the list of chores Gellert wanted him to do. For the man that ruled magical Britain, had multiple servants, and people bending over backwards for him he demanded a lot from Albus. He wasn't as young as before but Gellert ensured they both remained in their prime. He looked at the mirror with his auburn hair, neatly combed, because he would never have a dirty slave. He waited at the door for the next appointment.
The next batch of Hogwarts graduates were being assessed for their uses in Gellert's empire. The minister of magic, Regulus Black with his aid Sirius and Tom Riddle, this masters' heir were coming to discuss their placements. He had heard from Sirius Black that his godson was part of the class and was hoping for a good placement.
There was a knock on the door. Albus opened it a crack before seeing the familiar aristocratic features of the Black brothers. He opened the door and at the nod left to do his chores. Sirius black went with him under orders from his younger brother. He was under orders to help Albus so he got it done faster than normal. They were ordered to stay out of the office so watched the marching of the Hogwarts graduate in front of the building.
They wore uniforms and Harry Potter was at the front leading them and yelling out orders. He was the son of a high level ministry official and a skilled but low rank Charms mistress. He had worked hard to attain first in his class according to Sirius. Both of his parents tried to dissuade the young man but he wasn't to be persuaded. Finally a servant came to call Albus and Sirius into the Gellert's office.
They saw the list on the board with the placements. The only one left was Harry Potter with a question mark. Regulus was looking thoughtful, Tom was annoyed and Gellert was looking expectantly at Sirius. They seemed to be finishing an argument of where to place Harry.
"He's your godson, Sirius, where do you think he should be placed?" Regulus asked.
Sirius froze before answering, "He deserves to be placed according to his merit. He's been obedient to every order and it would be a waste to have him placed according either his fathers' or most likely mothers wishes."
"I agree. We need to place him where he'd be most useful though. If we place him wrongly, we would be ruining a potential star." Tom motioned towards the upper level of the list.
"But we can't place him too high. He deserves a good place - but promotion if he's that good should come quickly!" Regulus said.
Gellert turned his chair towards the window. Watchful of the young leader in a finer outfit then his peers he agreed with both. Facing the four he nodded in agreement.
"He's going to be placed under Sirius for now. After six months he's going to be transferred until he has a final posting." Gellert said knowing Tom would be delighted at the news.
