Riley Was Kind

Riley was kind. She never bullied anyone less fortunate than her, never called them names. She cared for the feelings of others and always spoke softly. She would do anything to help others, no matter how personal the sacrifice was. At lunch, she gave her food to people who had no money and let people get in front of her in the lines. If she was asked to help with moving something, she'd drop everything. Riley helped tutor other students.
Riley was friendly. She greeted complete strangers in the hallway with a wide, contagious smile and tight hugs. Nobody ever felt alone when she was near; she sat with lonely kids during lunch. Her empathy was matched only by her love of conversations. She talked to people about so many things from movies to video games. In fact, she was called on by the principal many times to show new kids around the school.
Riley was oblivious. She believed that everyone deserved kindness and that everyone is innocent.
Not everyone is innocent, though.
Riley was naive. She never got sarcasm and never saw the horrible inside others. She always thought that everyone could be fixed.
Riley was sane.
The blond girl was not.
