A quick kabby one-shot that I just wrote (first try on kabby). That might not be good but I'm still sharing this with you. I'm deeply sorry if there are any mistakes, english isn't my mother tongue. Enjoy..
"I'm fine, Abby." He tried to reassure her while she was disinfecting the wound on his head making him stir.
"It could have been worse!" She reprimanded him.
"It's not as if someone cared about me in this camp, anyway." He softly chuckled.
"I do!" She almost yelled at him, stopping her moves. She paused then realizing what she had just said. "I need you. I-I can't do this without you." She continued more calmly. "So stop acting as if you were invincible." He could see she was mad at him and immediately felt guilty for making her worry, as if she didn't have enough problems right now.
He let her finish cleaning his wound on his head and then the cut on his forearm. He didn't miss any of her moves and she could feel his eyes on her.
"I'm done." She said a few minutes later as she gathered her things, without throwing him a look. He went down the table but didn't move, still looking at her.
"Abby.." He said softly to catch her attention but it didn't work. "Abby." He tried more insistent and grabbed her arm to force her to turn. She did turn with an exasperated look on her face.
"I'm sorry." He plunged his eyes into hers and she could see he was truly sincere. "You're right, I should have been more careful. It won't happen again." He let go his grip on her arm. They stood in front of each other in silent for a few seconds before Abby spoke.
"You- You just punish yourself continually for what you've done in the past.. but you've changed. You're a good man, Marcus." He smiled lowering his eyes then shook his head.
"I'm not as good as you think. I've done horrible things and you, know better than anyone." He watched her again.
"I forgive you." She whispered with all her strength. They looked into each other's eyes so deeply that the world could fall apart just around them that they wouldn't notice.
"Chancellor Griffin?" A guard was standing at the entrance of the medical tent with a whimpering girl in his arms and they both turned to him.
"What happened?" Abby asked. "She just fell. I think she scratched her knees." The guard said and as she made them come so he could put the girl on the table, she watched Kane silently leaving the tent. If only he could understand, if only.
The end.
