The night is no ordinary night in that certain place in a particular country. The nights are sure cold, but, not this cold! Unlike the other nights where all the other young boys and girls of their village are playing and the teenagers are all bullying the little ones or just standing there, doing nothing, the street is an empty one. No single person stood on the roads of the village. She stared on the view of the village from her usual place. She stared at the scene before her: the colorful houses of their neighbors. There are pine decorations outside the other's houses. You can't blame them: Shogatsu is coming in two weeks. The aura of the people here is pretty good, despite the bitter coldness that can be felt. Ah! Just imagine the place: A cold winter night with a perfect view where the perfect pure snow added to its beauty and. "NANDA BAKA KITSUNE?!" OK, maybe not silent. Her two cousins are fighting as usual. She's sure, not long after, their neighbors will start complaining because of the noise. It's always the scenery. Oh, maybe not. It's too cold, and they're probably sleeping already. It had been a shocking revelation when Mrs. McGrath, Kaede's mother, told him that Hiroshi Sakuragi is actually her long-lost cousin. Her first- degree cousin, Kaede Rukawa, looks like he's about to have cardiac arrest when he received his mother's letter from France. His skin became paler, if ever that is possible. About her second-degree cousin Hanamichi? Well, he became unconscious. In other words, he collapsed. Then, his mother urged him to live with his two other cousins, Kaede and her, for two months because his mother will be looking for a job. All of that happened in . well, one week. This week. The revelation didn't only affect the family; it also affected the village and the school, together with the basketball team. Oh, let me rephrase that. The revelation didn't only affect the family; it also affected the village and the school, especially the basketball team. Hanamichi and Kaede got all the teases on basketball practices. As usual, Kaede, being the ice-prince, didn't take offense, but Hanamichi boxed Miyagi and Mitsui out of their consciousness. Speaking of her ardent fan, Miyagi found out her surname. That also shook the basketball team. Oh, well, she had kept her surname a secret anyway. Who would've thought that her whole name is Ayako Rukawa? (he, I just gave up in keeping the speaker's identity) Starting that day, her fate change. She is also surrounded by a lot of her cousin's fans telling her top introduce them to him and all sorts of unimaginable things. She can't even believe it. Then, a male voice shouted. "Ayako! Where the hell are you? Shut your darn cousins up!" Oh, well, time to look for her paper fan. She closed the window and turned to the staircase. Soon, the whole village was snoring. It was peacefully quiet.
