My dearest Byakuya,

If you are reading this, then I am surely gone. But in some ways, I will always be there with you, my love. If you are reading this, you will possibly be reading this with a heavy heart because of what I have told you before my death. But this is not true; I do love you. You are the ever-present thought in my mind, and every little thing reminds me of you. We were meant for each other, and the strings of our fate are finely intertwined.

I am very sorry for not having been able to admit to you that I do love you very much. I did this hoping that you will move on with your life. You are a passionate man, even if you do not show this to the world. You deserve to live a happy life, one that is much longer than the space of five years. After reading this letter, please make a promise in my memory that you will find someone who will make you happy, someone who will love you. I know this will mean once more, I will have asked you to do something for me, but in doing this, I want you to be happy. The thought of you living a lonely life pains my heart.

Byakuya, remember that I love you, and I would have never experienced my happiness without you. There is never a day that I am not grateful for meeting you, falling in love with you, marrying you. When I am gone, please find your own happiness and begin to show the world your true self, the great man I am so lucky to have known, the great man I am so lucky to have loved.

Author's Note: The title of the story is the title of a Vietnamese song called "Hat Mua va Noi Nho", which translated is "Rain Drops & Sorrow". Anyway, I really don't like this letter, but my friend Shiori-chan did, so I posted this prologue. See you in the first chapter!
