A new Breed
Chapter One
Authors note: This is an X-m3n TV fic. I don't read the comics, I never have. Don't tell me
stuff doesn't work cause of the comic, cause I don't care… not to sound evil, but the comics are
too complicated. Also, I'm no good at writing Accents, so use your imagination for Gambit and
Rogue PLEASE
I wished I owned the X-men. Sadly no. I only own the young star of the story.
The year is twenty one sixty. The old X-men mansion stands alone in New York, one of the few
buildings left after a huge battle between the guardians and Apocalypse. The whole state was
leveled in the large scale war that the guardians made against the one who was said to bring the
end of the world. The guardians, like the X-men before them, fought to bring the tyrant to his
knees.
It was a long and bloody battle. Out of thirteen guardians, only five survived the Final Attack.
The five survivors stood at the edge of the old Xavier Mansion, looking out at the setting sun,
realizing they had saved it.
Gabrielle spoke first, her cajun accent prevalent in her lament, "We've lost so much. So many
gave up their lives for this."
"I know," said Kiren, "But look at it this way. We did it. We destroyed him."
"You mean Polecat destroyed him," said Remy, Gabrielle's older brother.
"I didn't do it alone," the youngest mutant said, "You all helped me."
"Polecat, you did it. None of us stood a chance," said Damian, the lead of the Guardians, a giant
demon like monster who watched over his friends like a hawk as they stood watching the sun set.
"I swear that it wasn't me. It was because of what he did to me."
"Polecat, you…" said Remy, putting his arm lovingly around her shoulder.
"Don't say it. I know."
"We did it!" said Gabrielle.
"He's gone," said Kiren, "Gone for good."
"He;s not gone for good," said Polecat, "There's still something I have to do."
"And that would be?"
"I need to go fix him in the twentieth century. He sent one of those damned clones of his there,
and I know who he's targetting."
"Our forefathers?"
"Yeah."
"Polecat, I'll go too," said Remy, "You can't go alone. You're not strong enough."
"I am," she said, "And you saw what Apocalypse did to you last time. I don't have the strenght
to pull off the stunt that saved you again. Also, he knows all of you to sight. Me, he's never seen
my face, and he can't have looked into my mind."
"And how are you going to get there?" asked Kiren.
"I can time travel. You know that."
"Not in this state," said Demon, "Polecat, you're still weak. We'll go down to the lab and give
you an Adrenaline boost, then you can go."
"Fine!" she huffed, walking towards the burnt out building, and down into it's depths, followed
by her friends. She took out a long syringe filled with liquid adrenaline, and jammed it into her
thigh. She shook once, then felt better.
"Polecat here," said Demon, "This is one of those contact things that Calvin made. It works even
through time."
"Thanks," she said, walking over and throwing her arms around the large demonic creature.
"Bye Cat," said Gabreille, "You take care of yourself, or I'll be very made girl."
"I promise," she said, hugging her best friend.
"Don't die," said Kiren, giving her a high five.
"You think I would?"
"Listen Girl," said Remy, "You take care ont get hurt or in trouble. If you give me a call, I'll be
there in a heartbeat chere."
"Thanks," she said, giving him a very ackward hug before stepping back, and opening a portal
with her mind.
"Bye Chere," said Remy, as Polecat stepped through the blue portal and away from him.
"She'll be back," said Gabrielle.
