Pairing contains Sora/Kairi. If you want Riku/Sora, there are plenty of other fics of that type out there. Don't put in requests.

Sorry if this comes out as confusing at first. Hopefully, things will start to make sense as the story goes along. Constructive criticism is much appreciated!

Dear Kairi,

How are you doing? Wow, it feels years since I've seen you, even though it's only been two weeks.

It's been rather cold here in the Crystal Plains, but Riku and I are doing fine!

I'm afraid I can't say anything about our location, but I can tell you that I am eating well and sleeping okay.

I wish I had more to write about, but I need to get this post off very quickly so we can move on. But I'll write tomorrow, I promise.

Thinking of you, always,

Sora

Kairi placed the letter in a small, wooden chest decorated with gold painted leaves after reading it the fifth time. This was where she kept all her letters from Sora. She would look at them every day, relieved that he was all right, and anticipating the day that his mission would be completed and he would finally return home.

She felt a surge of anxiety in her heart. He promised to write again the next day. However, it was two months the letter she last received arrived.

But the Crystal Plains are so far away, she thought.

She laughed for her own stupidity. "Silly Kairi! I'm sure you'll get a letter soon!" she said to herself aloud.

"Miss…."

Kairi raised her head and turned to the doorway. Standing at the entrance to her bedroom was a young woman wearing a plain grey dress and a white apron. She had a nervous look on her face.

She held a sealed letter in her hand.

"Miss….I-it's for you" The maid managed to say, still feeling tense. She knew that her mistress had been waiting for this message. What it contained, she did not know, but like Kairi, the maid was also worried for Sora's safety.

"Thank you, Georgiana," the girl said, walking up to the servant, taking the envelope and tearing it open.

Kairi took a deep breath and began to read the letter.
