"Ike? Hey, Ike!"

The blue-haired mercenary turned around at the sound of his name to see his two friends, Marth and Link, standing behind him in the Smash Mansion's large, open garden. He walked casually over to them.

It was then that Ike noticed that Marth had one hand behind his back.

"What is it?" The swordsman asked the prince.

"I've got a present for you. Hold out your hands."

Curious as to what this present might be, the mercenary obeyed Marth's order. Drawing out his hand from behind his back, Marth placed into Ike's hands...

A fluffy yellow chick?

"Happy Easter", Marth smiled.

Confused, Ike looked down at the little cheeping bundle of fluff that he held in his hands. The bird looked up at him and tilted its head inquisitively before letting out a soft cheep.

The swordsman's expression melted. Freeing one hand, he gently started to stroke the little creature's head.

Even though he hated to admit it, the small bird was downright adorable.

"He's so cute," Ike said quietly.

Link snickered.

"How do we know you won't kill it and eat it?"

"Oh please," the blue-haired swordsman replied. "Does it look like there'd be any meat on this thing?"

Link and Marth looked at the chick.

"You're right," Marth admitted.

Ike once more turned his attention towards the yellow fluffball in his hand. He hugged the little bird to his chest.

"I think I'll call him Dinner. What do you guys think?"

The prince and the hylian laughed.

"As long as you don't eat him for dinner," Marth replied.

Just then, the chick hopped onto Ike's shoulder from where it was sitting. Surprised, the mercenary turned his face towards the small yellow creature. A moment later, it pecked him lightly on the cheek.

The two other swordsmen snickered at the bird's antics.

"It looks like Dinner likes you," Marth laughed.

None of the men were prepared for what happened next, though.

From Ike's shoulder, the chick climbed onto his head. Link burst out laughing.

"He obviously thinks your hair's a nest," the green-clad hylian said jokingly.

The mercenary looked mildly annoyed at Link's comment, but he let it slide. Looking upwards, he could feel the little bird moving around atop his head.

After a while, the movement and cheeping stopped.

Marth nudged Link.

"Look at that," he said quietly. "The little thing's asleep on Ike's head."

Ike's face looked annoyed for a moment, but then it softened. He smiled - but then a thought came to him.

"Wait a second. What am I supposed to do now?!"
