Hello! I'm a new writer to the Divergent fandom though I have plenty of experience in writing fanfictions.

Anywho, I have noticed the lack of Urlene fanfictions and since I am a proper hardcore shipper of them, I have decided to try and write a series of one-shots.

I cannot guarantee regular updates because I have other fanfictions to update, but I will try to make it as often as I can.

Other ships may be included/mentioned but this will be mostly Urlene.

I guess this is a slight AU since neither of them are dead. Idk.

What else? She is so beautiful. You don't get tired of looking at her. You don't worry if she is smarter than you; you know she is. She is funny without ever being mean. I love her. I am so lucky to love her, Van Houten. You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers.
-Augustus Waters, The Fault in Our Stars.

.

Uriah could clearly remember the time when Marlene was addicted to a certain book; The Fault in Our Stars. He never thought much of it. When she first mentioned it, he simply said, "What's so fascinating about stars?" And just shook his head.

In his eyes, the only faction that would ever become obsessed with a book about stars is Erudite. Why would a member of Dauntless be interested in that? The question continued to pester him yet he never asked her. Mostly because she was always reading it; she even stopped him from having Dauntless cake for a whole week by throwing it away because he "wasn't Augustus Waters".

"Who the hell is Augustus Waters?" Uriah once asked Lynn, out of pure curiosity. He wanted to know what his competition was.

"He's in The Fault in Our Stars," Lynn simply replied.

"The book about stars?" Uriah wondered in a confused tone.

Suddenly, Lynn burst into laughter which only confused Uriah more. "You idiot!" She said between a laugh, "It's not about stars!"

"Then what's it about?" Uriah asked, shaking his head slightly.

"Read it and you'll find out." Lynn said, "I'm sure Marlene will let you borrow it. You can practice your 'Augustus Waters' then." She glanced at Uriah as pulled a face, "One of the main characters in the book." She added.

Uriah paused for a moment before frowning, "My competition is a guy that doesn't exist!?"

However, he took Lynn's advice and asked Marlene if he could read it. She was more than happy to let him borrow it; at least he would stop asking why her favourite book was about stars, which was a question she never answered because she could not simply explain the story to him in a few sentences.

A few hours after borrowing the book, he had already finished it. He usually spent most of his free time running around or to put it simply, he spent most of his time being Dauntless.

As he put the book down, he thought for a moment. He realized that he had yet to tell Marlene to love her, which he did. It dawned on him that in the next second or minute or even hour, the whole world could spiral into oblivion and Marlene wouldn't know how he felt about her.

Running out of his room, Uriah went to search for Marlene. It took him a couple of minutes with the pace he went at to find her outside the Dauntless compound, looking up at the night sky.

"Marlene! I finished your book." Uriah greeted with a cheeky grin.

Marlene looked rather impress as she smiled, "Really? Did you like it?"

"Yeah, it was cool." Uriah quickly answered, "Anyway, it got me thinking. We could all be gone in the next day or month or year... And we wouldn't get to say the things we need to say."

"Um..." Marlene trailed off, glancing around somewhat awkwardly. "Okay... What is happening right now?"

"Shut up—I mean, crap, sorry, I mean... I just wanted to tell you something." Uriah said before taking a deep breath, "Look, we've been dating for a while and when reading The Fault in Our Stars, I couldn't help but think of you when Augustus spoke about Hazel." He smiled when he saw Marlene smile, "You're so beautiful. You walk lightly. I don't have to worry if you're smarter than me, because I know you are."

"Is this really happening right now—"

"Marlene! What I'm trying to say is..." Uriah trailed off, thinking for a small moment. "I'm in love with you and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you and, I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inventible, and that we're all doomed and there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have... And I am in love with you."

Marlene didn't say anything; she just simply smiled and tried to stop herself from crying.

"What's wrong? Did I get it wrong? I didn't mean to, I just—"

He was interrupted by Marlene almost throwing herself onto him, pressing her lips against his as she gave him a kiss.

"It was perfect," Marlene said, "I mean, it was a little cheesy but I can't believe you remembered it."

"Of course I did. I remembered it for you."

"Uriah... I'm not going to go into a huge amount of detail, partly because you stole my quote for these situations. So, to put it simply, I love you too... You pansycake."

"Hey! That's my line." Uriah said with a laugh as he pulled Marlene into a hug.

Cheesy? Cute? Boring? Idk. Please review because reviews encourage me to update.

Plus, I want to find fellow Urlene shippers.

If you have a request for a Urlene one-shot then feel free to mention it in the review section or PM me (I rarely check my PM's so it might be better to review). Whatever is suggested, I'll try and write.
