Old Yharnam burned. Those locked inside went into a pained frenzy or had been tainted and blood drunk. Vammar was neither, or both. At this point he did not know, fire singing his cape so badly he cursed the water that was supposed to stop this.

"Move as one! We need to get out as soon as possible!" he called out to his men, the outer units cutting down burning scourge beasts and those on the inside carrying the sick and singed. Most of them were just lads on their first hunt. Luck of the draw.

Aldo fired off his cannon into a grouping of ashen blood sickened beasts, lighting each up and blowing them to bits. He reveled in the destruction, the cobblestone roads filling with potholes and trenches like a pockmarked minister. Those that survived felt the wrath of his rifle-spear, firing deep into their chest cavity, most of the time caving it in.

Luna coughed as she waited for her death by fire. She never wanted to be cremated, though it seemed she had no choice now. Her leg had felt broken, but was only a sprain in her ankle, nothing too serious to cry over, but the pain was real. She would be burned alive.

No. She would not. Luna stood with a yelp of pain, though pressed on out of the burning building, burning her palms on the way out. This added both to her pain and her resolve. She would definitely have a few more scars after tonight.

His men had made it through the exit, though Vammar had not. A stroke of bad luck, just the cards he had been dealt. Though Vammar was not happy about it. In their haste to leave, they had attracted a few beasts, too many for Vammar to handle alone. Suddenly, there was an explosion.

Aldo didn't even see Vammar as he fired off his cannon into the ashen blood ridden crowd, though he saved his life. He watched the hunter do his duty, sliding along the cobblestone with sawspear in hand as he cut down scores of beasts, stabbing the toothed spear into a massive scourge beast with a roar of his own. Aldo charged in to help his foriegn brother.

The battle lasted just under an hour, at the end both were covered in red, sinewy blood and chunks of scourged flesh. Vammar removed his leather tricorn and the sheet covering his face with a soft sigh, showing his palemoon skin and long black hair. His features were almost feminine and slender, giving Aldo a few confusing thoughts.

"Thank you for the assistance, friend, I barely escaped with my life."

"It was nothing, brother. Th'name is Aldo, yers?"

"Vammar. Powder Keg, huh?"

Luna limped down the cobbled street with a cough as smoke choked her lungs, pain deep in her chest. Her heart was pounding as she fired her pistol at the nearest ashen blood beast, sending it's brain matter splash along the wall.

Her ankle healed as she moved onwards towards the sounds of cannons and slashing, hearing the splatter of blood against stone, and finally seeing the melee between two hunters and countless hunted.
