A Friend that Cares
Summary: Link has had enough torment for not having a fairy so one night he decides he is going to take his own life. Until one very special friend reminds him that she is there for him and that his life has purpose.
Fairy less! Fairy less! Fairy less! Mido and his gang of friends said dancing mockingly around Link.
No. no. no. Link wanted to run, but everywhere Mido or someone else blocked his path.
Stop it! Stop it! , please Link pleaded, but to no avail. The chanting continued and all he wanted was to die right there and end it all.
STOP! Link woke up screaming. He realized he was in his room and covered in sweat.
It was still night out and all was completely silent. He decided he needed some fresh air, so he strapped on his boots and went for a night stroll to clear his head.
He walked around Kokori village spying various places as he went, the potion shop, mido's house (which made him cringe) and even Saria's house.
Saria.. Link wanted so bad to talk to her, to let her know how he was feeling. She was the only one who did not make fun of him for not having a fairy.
Tears rolled down his face. He did his best to silently cry as he did not want anyone to know he was out here
You are a nuisance to everyone even her. Link tried to push that thought away but the more he thought about it, he began to think it might be true.
As tears continued to flow he remembered asking the great deku tree, which was the only father figure he had, the one question that was almost always on his mind:
Great Deku Tree why am I the only one without a fairy? The answer was almost always the same, I'll tell you when the time comes.
The voice spoke again, You will always be fairy less, all that he says is nothing but words to make you feel better.
Link dropped were he was and cried even harder. You are better off dead and out of everyone's way.
It was at that moment Link remembered Saria words: If you ever need someone, you can come talk to me. However Link had gone to her more often then not becauseof the endless teasing and the occasional beatings from Mido. I am just a burden to her he thought.
I am a nobody he said aloud. He then ran as fast as he could back to his house. Once he arrived he buried himself in his covers trembling, all the while thinking of various ways he could take his life.
