Cold sweat, red lips

My eyelids painted gold

Lashes brushed with glitter

And cheeks dusted rose

Eyes lined with stardust,

They've spun me a dress.

Weaving it with pearls,

Diamonds,

Lace.

It's not enough to blind me.

They think I'll fall into their

Intricate

Trap,

Woven as tightly as the dress

That clings to my unwilling skin.

Their lies, their maudlin attempts

To keep me satisfied

They're see through,

And for a moment I want to laugh

A laugh full of bitterness and hatred

But I don't

If I want to survive, I keep

Silent.

So I embrace this hollow world,

This prison,

Knowing it will taste so sweet

The day I can finally break

Free.
