Hey, everyone. I'm Moochiecat and I've read a lot of Castle FF and I used to write Law and Order SUV, and CSI, Las Vegas, with my wonderful writing partner, Prairie24. Prairie moved on to other interests and I kind of lost interest in writing. But with the encouragement of WTRD, I'm tackling my first Castle fic. So, all mistakes are mine, and there isn't a "snowball's chance in hell" that I have any ownership interest in "Castle." So, we begin.
Castle, Rating: Everyone, even the kids. No Angst, just thoughts and emotions. Post the finale of Season 7.
AFTER THE BANQUET
Everyone looked at their ringing phones. Everyone answered. Everyone started shifting and moving, with various levels of enthusiasm.
BECKETT:
In her head: "Well, this isn't how I'd wanted the evening to end. Sigh...well it's not like we haven't had an evening interrupted before." Glancing at her husband, Kate's face softens, remembering how Rick had said such beautiful things about her, but then it hardens as she shifts into Detective Beckett mode.
CASTLE:
In his head: "What a hell of an evening! Connelly was awesome. I have to remember to get him a bottle of 36 yr old Laphroig . How I loved talking about Kate, Alexis, Mom, and the 12th). I wonder what this will be about? He looks up and swiftly moves to keep up with his wife/partner/lover/friend.
ALEXIS:
"Well, why don't I think this is unexpected?" With The 12th anything can and should be expected. I think I'll get Grams home safe and then I'll text some friends and see where everyone is going tonight. I hope Eliot is going to be with our group."
MARTHA RODGERS:
"Good God, how typical and anti-climatic. You'd think they were all actors, with egos. Actually, I guess they are actors. Half of what they do is manipulation and innuendo, exactly like actors. I want to go home and sleep. I won't be there much longer. My condo is almost ready to move in."
JAVIER ESPOSITO: "DAMN, I wanted to ask Lanie to reconsider our relationship. Now, it has to wait until later. BLAST IT!"
KEVIN RYAN: With a despairing glance at his wife, "CRAP! Jenny was hoping to talk to everyone tonight. To tell everyone that our second child is seven months away. Well, I'm a cop, and she knows the score."
JENNY RYAN: "Go, Love. It will wait."
LANIE PARRISH: " Perfect, just friggin' perfect. I was hoping to talk to Javi, now I'll have to wait for days."
CAPTAIN GATES: "Well, my successor is about to work her first case as a quasi-Captain." Smiling, ruefully, Victoria Gates moves towards her office. Her husband is right behind her. "Vicky, are you Ok?," inquires her husband. "Yes, and no, she responds. I'm thrilled at my promotion to 1PP, but I'm so concerned about this, my last precinct. I'm sure Kate will do well, but still. I mean, Castle? How is he going to be able to continue here? I just don't see it continuing on." "Don't worry about it so much Victoria. Let's get on home."
SYDNEY PERLMUTTER: "Well, It's pretty obvious that Castle and Beckett have no idea that she's two months pregnant. I look forward to many more conversations with "The Bean." He's comfortable and happy. I wonder what they'll name him? Dang, there goes my beeper. Back to the Morgue."
TORI: "I'm really excited about my new job. It's amazing. I've been tagged to be an Advance Tech V at NSA. What an honor. I'll miss the 12th, though, that's for sure."
LT and BRUCE: "Man, I hoped we'd have tonight off. But, no dice. What do you expect, LT, it's the roll of the dice, Bro."
MOP and BROOM, and Company: "What's going on? Why is everyone back here? How come everyone is rushing everywhere? Weren't they all at a fancy party for Rick? Oh, dang, someone just totally screwed up with Espresso. We've all got to get to work."
MICHAEL CONNELLY: "I just got a terrific idea for my next book. I wonder if I have to acknowledge Rick in the dedication?"
FINIS.
