Waking the Tiger

Disclaimer: I do not own Castle.

Author's notes: This is meant to be a funny little story. Everyone is probably out of character but it is only meant for fun. Please review. My last story only got one even though three hundred and sixty people read it :(
Thank-you to the beta for this story, NCISninja12

Castle woke up with a great feeling. He turned and looked at the sleeping person next to him. However cute Beckett looked when she was asleep he knew that it was time to wake her up. He remembered her mention to him that she was a light sleeper and that a neighbour coming home was enough to wake her up.

Castle had always known that Beckett was a light sleeper but this was just ridiculous. He had been trying to wake her up for the past 10 minutes.
First he tried shaking her, big mistake. That ended with several not so quiet curses and him picking his butt up off the floor.

Next he tried changing tactics, something that didn't involve going near her. This time he sat on the edge of his bed and said loudly "Kate, time to wake up, it's" he was cut off by a flying pillow. When he looked at her, he was baffled to find her sound asleep. What the hell? She throws stuff in her sleep! I knew she was very protective of herself but that was just well, ridiculous he thought as he crept over to the other side of the bed.

This time he gently tapped her shoulder. That didn't end well. He was hit by a very large and pain inducing book from the nightstand. However, she was still asleep.

That's when Castle had an epiphany, a light bulb going off above his head (had Kate been awake she probably would have seen it.) How had he not thought of this before? He got up and practically ran to the kitchen.

A couple of minutes later he returned to the bedroom with a steaming mug of coffee which he placed on the nightstand that Beckett was currently facing in her sleeping state.

Her eyes practically snapped open and she immediately grabbed the cup of coffee and took a long sip. Castle sat on the bed next to her.
"I thought you were a light sleeper" he said now that she was finally awake.
"I am" she replied, while sipping the coffee, happily.
"Do you know how long it took me to wake you up? First I try shaking you and I get knocked onto the floor, then I ask you to wake up and I am hit with a pillow. Finally I try tapping your shoulder and end up being hit by my own, painful book, and yet you were still asleep!" Castle said, becoming breathless.
"Oops" came the only reply.
