The computer. The screen. The glowing light that flashed when the computer was loading.
"What the hells taking so long"
"Well the computer has…..crashed"
"What they"
"Never crash, I know" Malcolm sat and looked at the screen.
"Why would it crash"
"I don't know Malcolm. Can you just try and get this to me as soon as everything sorts itself." Adam walked back to his desk. Malcolm was trying to get the computer to work by hitting it and looking at the wires.
"Ah here we are"

Ros entered the Grid and looked around.
"Where's Malcolm?" she thought as she kept looking "He's trying to get the computer to work" Ros looked at Adam. Had she said the question out loud.

Malcolm typed and clicked away. He loved his job. Computer heaven. He enjoyed the way everything worked. Getting security camera footage. Making false identity cards. Access codes. Everything.

Ros placed her jacket on her chair. Sat down and looked through all the files she had.
"I have a feeling this is going to be a Grid day" She whispered to Zaf.
"Yes it could be" Zaf yawned.
"Out late last night"
"No I just was watching something on the television" Ros looked at Zaf. She wasn't going to ask him what it was he watched because she knew he would have forgotten.

Malcolm worked away in the dim of the blue light. He looked up. He saw a blonde haired woman walking towards him.
"Good Morning Malcolm"
"Hello Ros" He adored Ros. He just wanted to sweep her off her feet and whisk her away. Somewhere.
"Anything Interesting"
"Well not really. Im trying to decode this security footage for Adam"
"Oh. Do you want a coffee"
"Yes please"

Zaf looked at Ros walking across the Grid with a smile on her face. Ros took the white mug out of the sink and gave it a rinse.
"When the bloody hell did I last wash this cup" She sighed. The kettle boiled. The steam vapoured up into the bluish air. Ros poured the water into the cups and walked back across the Grid.

"Oh lovely" Malcolm grinned. Ros took a seat and sat opposite him.
"Do you need a hand"
"Em….No its nearly done"
"……Em" They didn't quite know what to talk about. They loved each other. They didn't know how to say it.

Zaf watched as Ros walked back to her seat. She thought about how she could say what she wanted to say but she didn't know. Malcolm sighed he loved her. He looked at the empty chair beside him. He missed Colin. He loved Colin. His friend. They made each other laugh and they had fun. Malcolm was lonely. He needed someone.

Ros looked at Malcolm. Malcolm looked at Ros. Malcolm waved. Ros waved back. They chuckled. Looked away. Looked back. They mouthed things to each other. Jokes. Questions. Malcolm looked around. He stood up. He sat down. He moved his lips. I love you. Although nobody could hear it, Ros could hear loud and clear. She knew what he had said.
