I seriously have no idea where this came from but I decided to twist and
turn the interesting life in Tree Hill to be completely upside down. I hope
that just the thought of some of these changes makes all you readers laugh.
I admit, I laughed when I thought of it. ;^) I don't get much
entertainment.
"I'm sorry. Times are just too hard for me and Lucas, we can't," said Luke's mom, Karen while sitting at a table at the best restaurant in Tree Hill.
"What do you mean Karen? I don't understand how this complicates things. Just one more step forward. We can try it out for a few months," said Keith in return. They had been dating for months now.
"I mean. I like you, but I haven't been serious with a guy since Dan and that didn't turn out right. I'm just not ready. I'm sorry," Karen got up and left the restaurant. Keith closed the velvety, black box and hoped he could return the engagement ring.
The next day Lucas was at school. Nathan had partially befriended him since his father had moved out. It made Lucas feel better about Haley and Nathan.
Nathan and some of the team were coming down the hallway of lockers. Nathan had his arm around Haley's neck and Lucas didn't like it, but didn't show it either.
Hey man I'll see you after school," Nathan said while passing Luke's locker.
"Sure," said Lucas.
Karen stayed in bed that whole day. She didn't tell Lucas what happened. She hadn't really come to terms with it herself. Lucas came home and went into his mom's room. "You feeling better ma?" he asked.
"Yeah, I guess. Why?" said Karen.
"You've got to go to the scrimmage in an hour or so but I'm due there in fifteen minutes. Are you up to it?"
"Sure, I'll get ready," Karen got up as Lucas left the room. She walked over and closed the door. She had to get out of her pajamas. Unfortunately, two minutes later Nathan came walking past the house to pick up Lucas. Nathan stopped dead in his tracks as he watched Karen.
She took her shirt off and threw it on the floor. She picked a new one out of her dresser and struggled with it covering her head. Nathan blinked and snapped out of it. He walked up to the door and got Lucas. They headed for Haley's house.
"What's the matter with you man? You haven't said a word," Lucas, Haley, and Nathan were heading towards the school and Nathan hadn't said a word the hole walk there.
"Nothing man," said Nathan acting like he was alright. In his mind he couldn't stop thinking about Karen.
