Juliet pointed toward the couch, her eyes wavering with a mysterious glint. Shawn suspiciously looked at her, racking his brain for something he had done wrong, but he couldn't think of anything.
"Any reason why?"
"Just trust me."
Confused, and a bit excited, he grabbed his favorite pillow from their bed and danced to the couch. Juliet was taking quite some time to migrate to the new location, so Shawn's brain began to wander. Despite his attempts to figure out what was happening, none of them made sense.
Here's what he knew:
Juliet was tired. It had taken a lot of effort from everybody to nab the killer, and he saw the dark, sleep-deprived look under her eyes.
He wasn't going to be sleeping alone. Jules had told him to trust her, implying whatever she was doing was for the best. And to be honest, both of them were snugglers. Every night before they went to sleep, they would settle in each other's arms. But… Of course! How could he miss this?
The gears were already finished spinning by the time his beloved Juliet strode into the beautifully furnished living room. Shawn was lying on his side and he patted down on the couch, motioning her to become wrapped in his muscular arms. Before she could say anything, he launched into a wrap up, his warm and intoxicating breath making it impossible for her to focus.
"My dear Jules, we're sleeping on the couch because you twist and turn in your sleep. You figure, the smaller the space, the less room you'll have to wriggle about. Thus, in the morning, you'll get to wake up gloriously in my arms. I know I'm irresistible. Can't help it, the ladies have always loved me."
She wasn't even paying attention to what he had just said as she desperately pulled him closer to her and made out with him. As soon as they broke apart in need of some stupid thing called oxygen, he winked suggestively at her.
"You sure you don't have game?"
She blushed and smiled slightly, shaking her head, a silent 'no'. Shawn just shrugged it off and pulled her tighter to him.
"That's okay. I'd wait forever if it meant keeping you happy. Let's go to sleep."
His voice was matter of fact, much different than his normal joking tone. Shawn gave the top of her head a kiss before draping his arm around her waist, ensuring their proximity. Juliet's stomach was doing flips, and she happily agreed, not able to hide the huge grin on her face.
She flipped over so that they were facing, and kissed him lightly this time, but with as much emotion as before. With that, Shawn's eyelids fluttered shut as he desperately failed to keep his eyes open. After Shawn was snoring happily, she whispered as quietly as she could.
"I love you Shawn."
And with that, she too dozed off, elated that she was in her man's safe and secure arms.
