A/N: I don't usually post poems on their own. I had originally planned to incorporate this within A Shadow in the Darkness (sequel to A Whisper in the Night), but it didn't work out. I figured I might as well post it anyway, so here it is!
This poem can be considered from either Sakura's perspective or Sasuke's. I wrote it like that intentionally so you can get whatever you want out of it.

The Laws of My Love
Show me what it means to be me
Show me the things I need to see
Reach into my heart and look around
Then tell me about all the things you found
Explain to me what my purpose is here
Let me know if I'm one you hold dear
Look into my eyes and captivate my heart
Mess me up a little then tear me apart
Then use the glue to fix what you've done
Try and find where the pieces fit; it should be fun
Let me drown slowly then bring me back to life
Because I'm sure the resuscitation will feel kinda nice
Leave me here all alone and say you'll never return
Just so when I see you coming back I can feel my heart burn
Next time you see me fall just let me hit the ground
So I can feel you tend my wounds and hear you promise you'll stick around
If I smile at you, don't smile back; I can't withstand the sight
Because if you do, that smile will keep me up all night
If I get hurt and ask for help, just ignore me and walk away
Because if you comply and care for me, I'll find myself hurt every day
If I ask for a kiss, don't give in, don't you dare do a thing
Because if you do, you'll shut me out and my hear will no longer sing
And most of all, don't say you love me, don't ever utter those words
So when it accidentally slips it will be the sweetest thing I've ever heard
And lastly, don't say "I'm yours" because if you do
My heart will forever belong to you
