Wally was blinded by the steaming light in his eyes. Blood coursing through his veins and all around him there was darkness. Except for the light in front of him. All he could do was run in this force. He couldn't stop himself even if he wanted to. The blood rushing through his legs was almost painful. All he thought about was Artemis. Her smile, her laugh, anything about her was the most important thing on his mind.
He sometimes thought about what she was doing. What she was feeling. How she was doing. He thought about Brucely, about Dick. His best friend will kick his ass for leaving him. If he does leave. But his family needs him. Artemis needs him. Tears of frustration pricked at his eyes.
Suddenly there was a black circle in the middle of the force. It was too dark to make it out but he knew it was there. He tried to run faster, but he was only getting far away.
He found himself in the middle of the arctic. He was freezing and his legs were suddenly bleeding.
"S-Somebody help me. Somebody help me. SOMEBODY HELP ME!"
And somebody seemed to hear him.
"Wally? Wally! We found him!" Dick called back to his friends. They caught his signal and ran back to him. But Wally was already lying dead cold on the ground.
When Artemis heard Wally was alive. She laughed her ass off. She believed they were playing some sick joke on her. But when she found out they were serious, she became dead quiet with her mouth gaped open.
She remembered vividly how she felt when Barry told her he was dead. Tears feel down her cheeks rapidly and she fell down to the ground on her knees. She loved Wally with every fiber of her being. How could she not act like that?
Artemis raced to the closet to put on her clothes. She brushed her teeth quickly before and zeta beamed to the cave.
She found him lying in a bed in the infirmary. Tears pricked at her eyes and she let them fall. She pressed her hand over her mouth and speed walked to the bed.
She grazed his cheek and brushed his hair from his face gently. She sat in a chair and watched him. His eyes slowly fluttered open and his gaze landed on her.
"Artemis, babe," He attempted to sit up but Artemis stopped him.
She gave him a long, hard, kiss. Putting all her love and trust into it. He relaxed and kissed her back. Lips moving in sync and she just wanted to know that he was really there.
They parted and Artemis wrapped her arms around his neck and nuzzled her face into his shoulder.
"I can't believe you're really here." She muttered, letting out a small laugh.
"I would never truly leave you, babe. You are my Spitfire and I love you so much." Wally sobbed, clinging to her jacket.
Artemis noticed this and cupped his cheeks, "Wally, look at me," Wally's eyes sought other objects before landing on her irises,"We're together now, and nothing is going to come between us."
It's nice just relaxing. Hearing Wally geek about constellations and astronomy wasn't really what she signed up for. She was hoping they would make-out, but she guesses this is all she'll have for now. Lying on the grass wasn't her idea of fun.
"Stars are giant, luminous, spheres of plasma. There are billions of them including our sun- Artemis are you listening to me?"
Artemis dropped her gaze off of Wally's lips. Oh god how she wanted to kiss those lips. He looked so adorable with that idiotic grin that splayed his freckles upwards.
"Not really. But I think we could be doing something better right now." She eyed him from his chest to his pants. He was wearing a pretty tight sweater that showed off his broad shoulders. And his pants were a little tight…
"Do what? I'm just glad to be here with you." He turned to his side to get a better look of her. She couldn't believe how clueless he was sometimes.
She cupped his cheek and pressed their lips together. The kiss was soft and gentle. They were taking there time and loving every minute of it. They were whole again.
