Before I start, I'd better give a lesson in what all these things mean...some are inside-jokes, but I'll do my best to explain them.

You might have heard the song: "I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee" on old Barney episodes, but my friends and I have done a little changing, and created a version to suit our own demented tastes.

'This is the song that never ends' and 'Found a peanut' are not original songs, but two favorites from an extensive list of random, repetitive songs that my friends and I sing to bring grief and sorrow to our road trips.

The 'bye-bye' Songs are not original, either, but several versions have been created to suit the needs of fellow film enthusiast (a fancy way of saying 'movie freaks') and my sister and I have created several versions of our own; the favorite being: 'Bye, bye, Mr. Gandalf, Good-bye!'

'On the Twelfth Day of LOTR' is a song created by a fellow enthusiast, and I claim no ownership of this song. It is an LOTR-friendly version of 'The Twelve days of Christmas'

'Muumuu's are the tight legging things that Legolas wears through all three of the films, except The Council of Elrond, and during the Fellowship's stay in Lothlorien. I did not make up the word, but found it on a web-site, and use it in daily conversation.

I realize that you are probably saying: "This is gonna be one freaky fan- fic" But let me assure you, it is not as complicated as it sounds, and it will be one...interesting...story, so don't tune out just because I've gone a little over the deep end.

Let the adventure begin! SQUEEEEEEEEEE! ^__________________^

Part I
The Beginning

Jean lay in bed; her head turned this way and that. Sweat beaded her forehead, though it wasn't very hot in the room. Then she suddenly sat up! She looked about as though she expected something to attack her out of the far corners of the room. She saw her two friends, Kristy and Elizabeth, and her sister, Victoria, whom everyone called Vicki, on the bed with her. She sighed, and put a hand to her forehead. What a strange dream! It was – no...wait...she remembered it not, only that which had happened in the dream had terrified her. Jean lay back down and cat napped until everyone had risen.

When everyone was awake, dressed, and eating breakfast, Donna, Jean and Vicki's mother, said: "Now, as soon as you're done, get ready because we're going to 'Turtle Rock' today!" All of the girls cheered! "I can't wait!" Jean yelled. "Me neither!" Kristy cheered! "Are you gonna go climbing with us this time, Vicky?" Elizabeth asked. "I don't know..." Vicky said slowly, she wasn't one for climbing much. "'Cummon!" Jean prodded, "It'll be tuns of fun!" "Well," Vicky said all the rest of the girls leaning in, "I guess I'll go, but can we go on an easy trail, Jean?" "Sure, but there is no such thing as an effortless trail." She reminded her sister. Vicky agreed, and within the hour they were all piled in a car, on their way to Turtle Rock.

"I'm bringing home a baby, bumblebee!
Won't my mommy be so proud of me?
I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee!"

The girls sang at the top of their voices, thoroughly enjoying themselves,

"Ouch! It stung me!

I'm running from a baby bumblebee!
Won't my mommy be so proud of me?"

The girls were then suddenly interrupted by one of their fathers, telling them to: "Stop singing that stupid song!" The girls giggled, and snickered, but continued singing it at too low a tone for any one else to hear:

"I'm running from a baby bumble bee-
Oopsie..."

At this point they would put their hands together and rub, as though they were squishing the bumblebee.

After five songs of 'I'm brining home a baby bumblebee', thirty minutes of 'This is the song that never ends', seven rounds of 'Found a peanut', and all of the 'Bye, bye' songs, including the 'Bye, bye Mr. Gandalf, Goodbye', they arrived, much to the joy of the adults in the car with the four hyper, rambunctious teenagers. First they stopped at a river, where they dressed in skirts and played 'Hobbits' and ate apples, carrots, sandwiches. "I wish we had some mushrooms." Jean sighed, biting into an apple. "Eww..."Kristy exclaimed, not a fan of mushrooms, however 'Hobbit-like' it seemed.

After eating, everyone piled back into the car, though Jean would have liked to have remained and read or written there for a while, and began the three-minute ride from the river to Turtle Rock. Along the way somehow fitting in all of 'On the Twelfth Day of LOTR, PJ Gave to Me' When they arrived at Turtle Rock, named thus because of the turtle-like rock formation, the adults left the car, while the girls changed into their climbing clothes, at it was out of the question that they go climbing in skirts. Jean and Kristy changed into muumuus and T-shirts, and Elizabeth and Vicky changed into shorts and no sleeve shirts. "Let's go!" Jean yelled, jumping up and down with excitement! "Hold your horses," Vicky replied, "which trail are we going on?" "We're going on one that leads up to a ledge, the trail goes on after that, but I haven't been up there yet, and let's just focus on one place at a time." Jean said, calming down and taking the role as leader. "And yes, it is an easy trail." Jean said quickly, seeing Vicky open her mouth to ask. "Ok then, let's go!" Kristy hollered, taking up Jean's excitement. "Yeah!" Elizabeth chimed. "Be careful!" Dana, Kristy and Elisabeth's mother warned. "We will be!" The girls called in unison as they headed on up the hill.

For thirty minutes everyone climbed the hill, stopping periodically to get water and rest. Finally they reached the precipice that Jean had told them about. Kristy climbed onto a flat rock and laid back. Elizabeth and Vicky sat on a small boulder that had a ledge not too far up.

Jean loved natural heights, and climbed out to the edge and let the wind whip her hair about her face. She closed her eyes and imagined that she was flying...over the mountains...over the world...to another land...it was beautiful. But wait, there was something that was making it darker, uglier...she passed over the beautiful lands, and was now flying over an ugly land shaped in a circle. There was a dark tower in the center. Jean suddenly jerked back and sat back up. "What in the world...?" She murmured. Seeing the strange expression on Jean's face, Kristy sat up. "You Ok?" She asked worriedly. "Hu, wha-? Oh, yah. I-I'm fine" Jean tried to laugh and ran her fingers through her hair. "Let's go..." She called, jumping to her feet, not giving Kristy a chance to question her further. She shook her head. That had been one freaky experience. "Now what do we do?" Elizabeth asked. "Well, anyone feel like climbing higher?" Jean asked, trying to sound cheerful, though her mind was uneasy. "Ooh! Me! Me!" Kristy cried jumping up and down. "Yeah!" Elizabeth cried, standing to her feet and cheering. "Noooo!" Vicky whined. "Aww common!" The rest of the girls groaned in unison. "No, I'm gonna go on down." Vicky was adamant. "Ok, but be careful!" Elizabeth yelled as Vicky began walking down the trail. "Then let's go!" Jean replied, standing and leading the way up the path that continued up the mountain.

"Listen, guys, I've never been on this trail, so be careful." Jean instructed. "What if we get lost?" Elizabeth asked, evident worry seeping into her voice and making it tremble. "The trail's pretty clearly marked," Kristy replied beginning to sprint up the walkway, "I don't think there's too much of a chance of that if we stick to the trail."

After a few minutes they stopped to rest again. Jean quickly felt refreshed, and became restless. "I'm gonna go ahead and scout out the trail." She announced, standing up and heading up the trail. "Be careful!" Kristy yelled. "I will be, and I won't be long!" Jean promised as she ran off down the trail. She could not know that just down the trail, something would happen to her that would change her life forever, and bring her near death too many times to be numbered.
