Are you punishing my clan, Cloudstar? Seedstar thought bitterly. She hated watching her clanmates die all around her; thank StarClan that only a few of the kits had been effected.
The only problem they faced now was that they were short Warriors to train their young. After all ThunderClan has done for your kits?
The ThunderClan leader didn't agree with Redstar's decision to refuse helping SkyClan, but she understood why the decision had come to what if had.
"Bloompaw and Beepaw ready to become a Warrior, don't you think?" Nettleclaw pressed.
Seedstar blinked. "It's long overdue" She agreed, deciding that tomorrow they'd have have the Warrior ceremony. There was no need for them to wake up the Apprentices' tonight. They'd all earned their rest.
"Make sure they're eady for an apprentice, Nettleclaw."
She gathered her Warriors in her den later that night.
"What are we going to do?" She turned to look a Violetsky, her gaze sweeping over her pawfull of warriors.
They had three Queens, all of whom had taken to raising all of the kits left orphaned from the recent plague the had swept through the forest. It had vanished as abruptly as it had appeared.
"We'll make it work." Seedstar replied, more confident than she felt. Why now, Cloudstar?
"How? We have five kits becoming Apprentices' in the next moon. The Apprentices' we have still have moons before they're ready to become Warriors."
The leader glanced up at the sky, praying for help. "Some of us will just have to take up another apprentice." She decided. It was the only choice she had.
"We can't handle more than one apprentice." The young warrior protested. "There's a reason it hasn't—"
"We have never been this short on Warriors." Seedstar snapped. Not including her, Nettleclaw, the two incoming Warriors, or the Queens, they had Four Warriors.
Am I making the right decision, Redstar? She'd barely become leader at the beginning of the all of this; when ThunderClan was at It's strongest. Then Redstar had died, and it felt like everything had gone downhill from there.
"StarClan willing, we never have such a thing happen again."
