It was a morning of bliss for the Trolls, Branch and Poppy. The night they shared was pure magic. They had made love and now rested in each other's warm embrace.
As sunlight hit the pod, it began to glow. Branch was the first to stir from his sleep. Opening his tired eyes to the beautiful pink troll that was snuggling up against him. This moment made Branch's heart want to burst into song, but he didn't want to wake her. He didn't want to disturb his mate at all. He didn't want to miss a thing.
And just like that, he whispered his loving song to Poppy. "I could stay awake, just to hear you breathin'. Watch you smile while you are sleepin', while you're far away and dreamin'. I could spend my life, in this sweet surrender. I could stay lost in this moment, forever. Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure… I don't wanna close my eyes. Poppy shifted in her sleep, making Branch pause so that he wouldn't wake her. Instead, he cuddled up close to her until he could feel her heartbeat. Everything about her was so precious to him. His heart overflowed with the feeling and it was impossible to stop himself from quietly singing more to her.
"Lying close to you, feeling your heart beatin', and I wonder what you're dreamin', wondering if it's me you're seein'. And I kiss your eyes, and I thank God we're together. I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever. Forever and ever… I don't wanna close my eyes. I don't wanna fall asleep 'cause I'd miss you baby, and I don't wanna miss a thing. Poppy then surprised Branch by opening her eyes and smiling. "Don't stop?"
Branch smiled, unable to deny her, and he continued to sing. "I don't wanna miss one smile… I don't wanna miss one kiss… I just wanna be with you, right here with you, just like this… I just wanna hold you close, feel your heart so close to mine… And just stay lost in this moment for all the rest of time… yeah… yeah… yeah…"
Although she didn't sing, Poppy closed her eyes and hummed along to Branch's song in harmony with him.
"I don't wanna close my eyes. I don't wanna fall asleep, 'cause I'd miss you baby, and I don't wanna miss a thing… 'Cause even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream will never do I'd still miss you baby, and I don't wanna miss a thing…" When Branch finished, he took hold of Poppy's shoulder and pulled her close as he kissed her.
Poppy pulled away from the kiss first and whispered, "I love you, Branch."
Branch smiled and lovingly pressed his forehead to hers and he whispered in return, "I love you too, Poppy."
