Waves crashed against the shore, as the sound of seagulls surrounded me. I was sitting alone, as Chester has been out to do some important work, just looking at the beautiful ocean ahead of me.
Father was placing some sunscreen on Mother, as per usual. It was weird, seeing a Lieutenant doing something out of the ordinary to a lawyer. I giggled at the thought of it, prompting glances from the both of them. Uncle Eric was playing Frisbee with Aunt Calleigh, and their daughter, whom they name Juliana. Erupts of laughter continued through out the beach.
My grandfather, Nick Knight, was lazily lounging around with my grandmother, Natalia, while his father Lucien LaCroix was busy staring at the both of them. Apparently, he told me once that the ocean was "just plain old boring". I just call that an excuse for excessive stalking.
My focus returned towards the ocean. It just seemed endless, but yet so calming. At the edge of the beach, a sudden cry was heard, "ANNNNIIIIEEEEEE!"
All of us snapped our heads towards wherever the sound was coming from, apparently Kendall, along with Logan, were both carrying a surfboard of their own, and was making the "surf's up" sign. The edges of my mouth curved up into a big, Cheshire cat-like grin. They knew me too well.
Their parents, Stefan and Elena Salvatore, were tossing their glasses of wine on what could be after a few days of work. They were relieved when their bosses told them they were good to go on holiday.
Lucien looked at me, "What are they signaling to you, Little One?"
I stood up, dusting my whole body, trying to get rid as much sand as possible, before getting my surfboard. It was the normal standard type you get in surfing stores, but mine just happens to have extra features, and the fact that there is a flame running through it makes it even cooler.
"Oh nothing, great grandfather. I'm just going surfing with them," I grabbed it, and skipped a few steps, "I'll be fine. Don't worry about me."
Running down the small slope into the waters, I shouted at the edge of my voice, "POOOOWEEEERRRR!" as how Jeremy Clarkson said it in Top Gear, well, other than 'We're Ambitious, but Rubbish.'
Placing the board under me, I gave a push before my chest made contact on the board, and I paddled further and further in the darker waters. As per usual, we would paddle our way into the middle, meeting and just basically sitting on our boards, chit-chatting away.
"So how's it hanging, little Annie?" Kendall was doing his normal boy-band smile, though I sometimes hated it, I wished he would do it more often.
I 'slapped' the waters, "nothing much, really. Just the normal stuff."
This time it was Logan's turn to speak, "Is your life really THAT boring?"
I rolled my eyes, in the terms of 'You don't say', "Yeah. Now why don't we start surfing instead of thinking of writing a diary about my life?"
After a few moments of "Oh sure, Why Not?", we paddled our way once again, counteracting the giant waves. The great thing about waves it, it's always unexpected, and in surfing, that's really exciting.
"You guys ready for this?" my voice went louder and higher, getting more anxious by the second.
After a series of 'Yeah!'s, we took turns to hit the wave. As my turn came, I began stabilizing the board, before attempting to stand up, which to my liking, I did. For that few seconds, the world just revolved around me. I could hear no one else, but I alone.
I swerve the board, trying to get the feel. I was already getting used to this. Wanting to impress everyone, I swerved it, falling back against the wave. It feels like I'm being engulfed in a tunnel, and that's exciting. I made the 'Rock On' sign as the waves brought me towards the other side.
As soon as it started, the waves subsided, leaving me in the calmer waves. The two men were clapping their hands, all the while cheering.
Even though I may not be with my other half, life certainly is the best thing ever.
