Lost Innocence Of A Soldier
No emotion,
No weakness,
No self,
I am trained to show no mercy
Mission, accept, accomplish this is all I've ever known
Those I've killed they plague me in my sleep,
When the soldier is gone and the defenseless child remains
I am lost,
no home,
no loved ones
Who will miss me when I'm gone?
I have no purpose if the war is over,
What will I do when my mission is done
Guilt
Blood
self loathing,
Now looking back I can't believe what I did,
many killed by these cursed hands,
many still were saved
A hero they proclaimed me
I wish only for peace
Silently hoping my final deed will atone for all the sins I have committed.
I pray only that this peace for which many have fought
And many more have died to obtain stands true.
I only hope now as I lay down to tackle the horrors of my past,
That the people of tomorrow are wiser than those of today.
All must fight to obtain true peace, but next time I long to spare only with words,
These two young eyes have seen too much death
These two hands shed too much blood
And my breaking young heart harbors too much pain,
For all those that have died, and left someone they love.
I pray the loss of my innocence went not in vain
For I'd really hate for other children to grow up
Living only in a world filled with
Guilt
Tears and
Pain…
