"…All love ever does is break, and burn and end."

Leo stared at the giant. It was HUGE. But he had to think quick. Demigods were all around, fighting monsters. A few feet away he saw Jason and Piper pulverising an earthborn and Hazel galloping around on Arion, slicing through monsters with her spatha. He also saw Percy controlling the river, shooting gusts of water at any monster that neared. Man, that guy was awesome. He looked up and saw Reyna on Scipio, doing her best to distract the giant Enceladus. gods she's beautiful, he thought. He turned his attention back to his giant. He wished he had Festus with him. He would be able to attack the giant much more easily. Hmm...maybe if he could just summon enough fire to- Suddenly he caught something out of the corner of his eye. Reyna. Scipio's wing was damaged and was spiralling down towards the ground. She was holding her stomach like she had been wounded. He saw them hit the ground.

"No!" he yelled.

He wanted to run to them, but he had to defeat the giant. Suddenly, an eagle appeared at his side and transformed into a human.

"Go." Frank said. "I'll take care of Scaly Legs."

Leo gave Frank a look of gratitude and ran towards Reyna, his heart beating furiously. The battle roared around him. He dodged and weaved and finally made it to Reyna.

"Reyna! REYNA!" he yelled.

He knelt beside her. Scipio was a couple feet away, moaning. The battle seemed to be in slow-motion around him, as if nothing else in the world mattered except Reyna.

"Reyna." He whispered.

He choked back a sob. She had a large gash on her stomach, which was starting to create a puddle of blood around her. Leo ripped of part of his shirt and tried to soak up the wound. But he knew it was too late. She opened her eyes.

"Leo." She managed.

Her voice was ragged. She looked him in the eyes and gripped his hand. A single tear rolled down Leo's cheek.

"Reyna, don't, don't-"

"Leo." She whispered, her eyes glistening with tears. "Te quiero."

Leo sobbed as the tears began to run freely down his cheeks. "Te quiero." His voice sounded almost as ragged as hers. He held her hand as she looked at him. He watched as the gleam in her eyes slowly faded, and her hand felt limp in his grip. He sat there, knelt over Reyna's body, and cried.
