Something I wrote from way back then, and only decided to post it today. ;) It's still like a story that suddenly pops into my head. My randomness is happening often. :)) And that means I can think of so much carp (intentional) in a minute. :))

"Hey, Cloud…" she spoke softly as they settled on top of the slide of the old playground. Knees to her chest, she spoke again, "What rank were you in?"
He took a moment to answer, almost as if he had nothing to say, but something eventually flickered on his mind. "First class." He had replied with a hint of pride. This changed the Cetra's face; from curious to surprised to ominous.
"No kidding…the same rank, too."
"Same as who?" he couldn't help but ask.
"Zack…do you know him?"
He merely shook his head. She sighed and hugged her knees.
"Who was he?" he asked, his eyes glued on her saddened features. She lowered her gaze from the swings, and spoke in an almost inaudible manner. "He was my first love."
Jealousy took over him all at once. He stared at her, wide-eyed and a little stunned. He looked away and fidgeted with the slide's rusted exterior. "Were you…serious?"
"No…" she shook his head and chuckled weakly. "But I liked him for a while."
His throat tightened, and he was left speechless and dismayed. She sighed once again before jumping off the slide, startling him as she landed on the ground safely. "But then…" she spoke, her back turned to him with her head hung low. "It's been five years, and I haven't heard from him since."
He landed behind her with a small frown upon his thin lips, unable to say anything. She clasped her hands behind her and giggled lightly. "Besides," she continued, and turned to him with the most beautiful smile, "…things could change."
His face turned several shades of red at her statement. She laughed at his bewildered look and took his hand on her own, and then he thought, maybe he did have a chance with her, after all.
