Everyone's around, no words are coming now.
And I can't find my breath, can we just say the rest with no sound..?
Thor stood a mere few feet from his brother, the hate in Loki's eyes was all he could see. The dark green peircing blue.
The other Avengers were not far away, watching with anticipation, weapons drawn, no one was speaking.
,And I know this isn't enough, I still don't measure up.
And I'm not prepared sorry is never there when you need it.
Loki turned his back to his brother, his coat fluttering with the motion.
Whatever he wanted to say, whatever he wanted to hear, it didn't matter now. Thor was standing with a group of friends, and he wasn't welcome there.
And I do want you know I hold you up above everyone.
And I do want you know I think you'd be good to me
And I'd be so good to you.
The moment Loki turned, Hawkeye had prepared to fire an arrow at Loki's back
Thor stepped out in front of his once clean shot, and took Loki's wrist. He had never noticed until then how truly small his brother was...
Thought I saw a sign, somewhere between the lines.
Maybe it's me, maybe I only see, what I want.
"Don't leave." Thor stated firmly.
Loki pulled his wrist away sharply, but Thor's grip didn't loosen.
"I'm sorry." Thor said, looking Loki in the eyes. "I failed you."
And I still have your letter, just got caught between
Someone I just invented, and who I really am and who I've become.
The other Avengers eyes were wide, and their mouths hung open in shock.
"I was arrogant, narcissistic, all of those things, and I left you in my shadow for my own ego." Thor continued, his grip on Loki's wrist staying ferm. "I should have known I was hurting you."
And I do want you know I hold you up above everyone.
And I do want you know I think you'd be good to me
And I'd be so good to you.
Loki felt a breath escape him he didn't know he was holding, as he stared at his brother.
Thor stepped closer to Loki, putting a hand on the side of his neck as he always did, a small smile on his face.
"I do not care if we aren't blood related, brother, you and I are family. We grew up together." Thor moved his hand down to Loki's shoulder. "You are so very important to me, you are my little brother, and I have missed you."
Loki stared, to surprised to say anything, up at Thor's face, studying it for sign of lies. "Why would you apologize to me? What do you have to gain from this?"
"I stand to gain a brother I lost." Thor replied softly. "I only want your forgiveness for my foolishness."
Loki's scepticism sank, and he turned his gaze down for a moment.
And I do want you know I hold you up above everyone.
And I do want you know I think you'd be good to me
And I'd be so good to you
Thor wrapped his free arm around Loki before releasing the small wrist from his grip. Thor had the smaller, scrawnier boy in a hug so tender and close the other Avengers watching were hit with another wave of shock.
Loki didn't have room much to move his arms but he gripped to the fabric of his brothers clothes, burying his face into Thor's chest.
"I am sorry…" Loki said quietly. "I did not wish to kill you."
Thor smiled, pulling the smaller man closer. "I know your intentions were good when you fought the Frost Giants… I wanted to tell you how proud I was. Your plan was brilliant. You put your silvertongue to good use."
Loki actually chuckled softly at this. "I was raised with you after all. Though I could not bring it to it's end like you."
The two stayed like that for a moment longer before Thor released Loki finally, reluctantly. "Please put your weapons down Avengers."
