'Taxi! Taxi!'

As usual, there were no taxis in rush-hour. New York city was always so busy. I ran a hand through my light brown hair roughly before visibly brightening. A taxi, albeit creepy looking had finally stopped. I opened my mouth to give the taxi my address before he slowly looked at me, whistled and drove off laughing.

Creep.

'Ugh.' I groaned. I was already late and that just wasn't acceptable. You see, I'm studying law and my schedule was stuffed. But I was never too busy for family. That is, I never was.

Charlie finally got over Renee and they had all decided to all go on a mini-vacation. They never came back. Charlie, Renee and Phil had died in a car crash.

My life had been relatively comfortable. I studied law at my leisure before my two half-siblings were thrust upon me. I suddenly had to speed up my studies so I could feed them. Alice and Emmet were good kids but they had their own demands.

Alice refused to wear the same thing twice, but she wasn't cruel. She often tried to re-design her old clothing into new clothing. That girl was a future fashionista and she was only eleven years old!

Emmett was loud, boisterous and happy despite his parents death. He tried to see the best of every situation. He was a sports fanatic and used lots of different sports equipment that I didn't even know the names of.

Alice was sort of my best friend. Kind of pathetic I know. But she was fun to talk to and Emmett always knew how to make me laugh. I already really liked them.

A loud 'honk' suddenly brought me out of my thoughts and I looked up in time to see lovely emerald eyes gazing at me through his side-mirror. His eyes oddly reminded me of the spinach I ate for dinner last night. Oh God I'm so weird. I looked at the car he was driving and gasped. Finally! A taxi was coming my way.

The taxi stopped, still gazing at me from his mirror. I rushed in and stuttered out my address. His eyes captivated me. He simply nodded, not speaking a word.

Too soon, we pulled up to my home. Just as I was opening the door he turned around ,showing his angelic face. I stared at him with my eyes wide-open. His hair was the oddest bronze colour. Apart from that he had a strong jaw, his beautiful green eyes and the slightest bit of stubble on his face.

I suddenly heard Alice and Emmett shouting 'Edward!' Well Emmett said Edward but Alice called him 'Eddie.' I snorted at the look of irritation on 'Edwards' face when Alice called him Eddie.

'You're Emmett and Alice's infamous Bella then.' Edward told me with a grin and a nod. His voice was lovely; deep and smooth.

I laughed 'Yep that's me. But how do you know who I am, Eddie?'

He scowled at me before joining in on my laughter. It was like we were old friends already.

'Well I think everybody knows who you are. They never stop talking about how much fun their older sister is.'

I smiled. 'I'm glad that they think I'm fun. But how do you know Alice and Emmett?'

It turned out that Edward was Alice and Emmett's new music teacher who insisted that they call him by his first name. He just got the job and was planning on leaving the taxi business tomorrow. I was lucky enough to have got into one of his taxis before he quit.

Emmett invited Edward in. he turned to smile at me. Maybe the future wouldn't be so daunting after all?
