Disney University
Depending on how you look at it, graduating from high school and heading to university can either be really exciting or really scary. We are leaving our homes, families, and sometimes friends if they choose to go to a different college. Some of our friends choose not to go to college at all and start work right away. There are two Disney Universities in the United States that students can choose to go to. One in Orlando Florida and one in Anaheim California. Some are forced to go only to a specific school based on their grades in high school but most are allowed to choose. There are two universities in each state for students to attend. One for princes, princesses, and all around good guys and gals and one for the not so nice, or villains if you want to call them that. The friends we will be following in our adventure have all chosen to go to Disney University in sunny, humid, Orlando Florida. Of course, there's nothing wrong with Disney University in California, it's just pretty well known that the better one is in Orlando and…most choose to attend there. Our journey starts out the day before the student's first day with Ariel and her best friend Belle.
~*Ariel and Belle*~
"Isn't the beach just wonderful?!" Ariel exclaimed, grabbing her towel off the back of her chair. Belle looked up over her book, pushing her sunglasses down her nose to look at her best friend.
"It is..quite..hot, if that's what your referring to."
Belle enjoyed spending time with Ariel, even if it was always at the beach. Nothing a bit of sunscreen and a big umbrella couldn't fix. It was also pretty relaxing to be able to listen to the waves crash against the shore while she read one of the libraries new arrivals for the week.
Ariel wiped her face off with the towel and sat down in her chair next to Belle under the umbrella.
"You ready for the first day of school tomorrow?" She asked, leaning back in her chair and glancing at Belle.
"Yup, all packed. I'm trying to finish up this book today so I can return it before we leave. I hope the school library has some decent mysteries." Belle replied turning the page of her book.
"I just hope they have a pool. I heard the beach is a pretty good drive from Orlando." Ariel sighed, looking out over the water. Tomorrow the girls would be loading up Ariel's car and heading to Orlando Florida to attend their first semester at the prestigious school for princes and princesses. They of course were hoping to be able to share a dorm room together but Ariel, being the forgetful, sometimes irresponsible girl she is, signed up late while Belle had been one of the first to sign up.
The girls sat in silence for a while longer before Belle finally read the last page of her book and closed the back cover, resting her hand on it lightly, reflecting on the story she had just finished. She liked to do this with all books she read, thinking about the adventure she had been on in her head.
"You almost ready to get going?" Belle asked Ariel, sliding her book into her bag.
"Only if we can get Starbucks on the way home. I'm dying for a refresher." Ariel replied, slipping on her shades.
~*The Beast*~
"The Beast" had been accepted to the best school in the country to play on the football team. He wasn't actually a beast, that's just what his friends on the football team in high school used to call him and it just kind of stuck.
"I've made sure all of your bags are packed and ready go to, master." Mrs. Potts called down the stairs to Beast as he was just finishing up his lunch.
"How many times have I told you that you don't have to call me master anymore?" He snarled back. "I'm not a kid anymore." When no response came from Mrs. Potts, he started to feel guilty. "Thank you for packing for me." He mumbled, trudging up the staircase.
"You're welcome dearie." Mrs. Potts replied.
Beast looked into his room at the barren spaces where things had been taken off the shelves and put into bags and went to sit next to his luggage on his bed. Beast hadn't been out of the castle much recently and he was eager to go to the university and hopefully make some friends on the football team but he couldn't help but be a little bit nervous at the thought of it.
~*Prince Eric*~
Prince Eric looked out over the side of his boat at the girls on the beach. He wasn't close enough to see their faces but he knew it was Ariel and Belle. The two were at the beach every single day this summer. He had met them down on the shore once but upon noticing how beautiful Ariel actually was, never worked up the courage to speak to her again. He had heard that the girls would be attending the same university that he would be going to and he hoped that he could work up the courage to talk to Ariel a little more there.
~*Jasmine*~
"I'm gonna miss you, boy." Jasmine said sadly, smoothing the hair around Rajah, her pet tiger's face. He purred sadly and looked at her with understanding eyes. "It'll be okay, hopefully I'll make some new friends. I heard Aladdin will be going too. At least I'll know someone and hopefully I won't be so lonely."
Jasmine would be taking a royal carriage to the university but she knew Aladdin would be taking his magic carpet. She longed for that type of adventure and from all of the good things she had heard about the university, it was going to be a very good year.
~*Aladdin*~
"You got this Al, I believe in you." Genie said behind his friend, transforming into a giant thumbs up.
"I know, I'm not really worried about it." Aladdin replied, shoving clothes into his bag. He didn't have much to bring, you don't own too many valuables being a street rat after all.
"I know, I just figured you would like a little encouragement from your old pal. Sheesh, don't bite my head off." Genie replied.
"Sorry, I've just never really been to any kind of school before, ya know? I'm not really sure what to expect."
"Well, like I said, you'll do great!" Genie transformed into the thumbs up again, trying to comfort his friend.
"I know." Aladdin replied once again, this time giving the thumbs up back at Genie. "Thanks."
~*Mulan and Shang*~
"Oh my little baby's off to college! They grow up so fast!" Mushu cried, blowing his nose into a handkerchief. Crickee stood next to him, crying just as hard.
"Mushu, hush, he'll hear you." Mulan scolded, pointing her head in Shang's direction.
"You say something?" Shang asked, turning around to face Mulan.
"Oh, no, I was just making sure I have everything." Mulan replied, pretending to check things off in the air. Shang had met her at her house to board the plane together. They had the longest ride out of everyone, flying all the way from China to Florida. The two had to leave the day before to make sure they would get there on time.
"Ready to go?" Shang asked, slinging his bag on his arm.
"Just one second, I forgot something." Mulan replied, running back up to her house. She wanted to make sure she was able to say goodbye to Mushu before she left.
