I'm sure

"Violet, are you awake?" Duncan Quagmire asked the dark haired girl sitting next to him. Violet Baudelaire nodded.

Those two were sitting in one of Prufrock Prep's classrooms and did their best at trying to make an essay about something commonplace. They got the function as a penalty for sending notes to each other at Mrs. Bass' lesson.

Violet took the ribbon from her pocket and tied her hair back. "I just can't discover a theme which is commonplace, but interesting at the same time", she sighed. Duncan raked his hair. "How about an atmosphere from one person's point of view?" he suggested. Violet smiled gratefully. "Good idea. I think I choose fear" she said. Duncan nodded and gazed out of the window. "In the light of the things you've told, It's been a very strong emotion in your life", he said quietly. Violet cut writing. "That's why I chose it. It's easy to write about familiar things", she explained. "What are you going to write about?"

Duncan took a look at the girl's kind of plaintive face. He looked like surprised for a moment, but then he blushed. "I thought... ah, never mind. You would just laugh at me", he said. Violet smiled. "I won't. I promise".

Duncan sighed heavily. The encouraging gaze of Violet's met his eyes. "I thought writing about love", he told her. Violet nodded and continued her own essay.

"Who is it?" she asked after a quiet moment. "Who?" Duncan asked with a frown. "The one you like. Do I know her?"

"Yes. You do. She is... in this room", Duncan answered. Violet put her pencil on the table. A small smile sneaked on her lips. "I'm sure she feels the same for you".

The End

Disclaimer: Characters aren't mine, neither is the place. They belong to Lemony Snicket. I only wrote the story.

A very short fanfic, again. I wrote this last year, but I was really lazy with translating... I'm sorry about grammatical errors, don't kill me. But thanks for reading and reviews are always nice. (:
